Background / History

Kallen was a Kaslana Family saintess who met the isolated young Otto Apocalypse after finding him wounded near the castle walls. Rather than ridicule his inventions, she took interest in his mechanical creations and encouraged him to use his talents to “save the world” with her. Their families later arranged their engagement, though Kallen treated Otto primarily as a dependable companion and supporter. 545 549 551 555 601

As Schicksal's strongest Valkyrie, Kallen fought Collapse Beasts while prioritizing civilian lives. She wielded paired cross-shaped firearms with exceptional speed and precision, destroying beast cores while evacuating survivors. Her decision to protect people Schicksal dismissed as “lowborn” led the bishops to accuse her of rebellion and condemn her to execution. 532

When a colossal Collapse Beast attacked her execution site, Kallen broke her chains by force and fought despite already being wounded and unarmed. She killed the beast with a broken lance, but its final attack mortally wounded her; Otto caught her as she fell. 533 537

After the Herrscher of Corrosion possessed Sakura and devastated the Yae village, Kallen sought to save her rather than kill her. She used the Oath of Judah's chains to seal Sakura, feeding the Divine Key with her own life force when its ordinary power proved insufficient.
