Gu Yuena revived from the Dragon Tomb after a process involving extensive planning and ten thousand years of time. Her past also includes being divided into Gu Yue and Na'er, a separation that remained a source of grief when she witnessed similar fates imposed on others. 281 421

The Dragon God's division into the Golden Dragon King and Silver Dragon King is another foundational trauma. Watching Phanes' fragmentation recalls her inherited image of the Dragon God being split by a blood-red Asura sword. To evade the Divine Realm's pursuit, Gu Yuena herself endured ten thousand years of sleep while gravely wounded and with her soul divided. 122 267

As co-lord of the Soul Beasts, Gu Yuena spent her life fighting for her race's survival against the God Realm and humanity. She once considered destroying the human world to secure a future for Soul Beasts, believing resistance and war were the only means of reclaiming their living space. 38 68

Her inherited belief that the Dragon God represents dragonkind's ultimate origin is repeatedly challenged. Nibelungen's nature as a planet's will and Source Power, followed by his cosmic-level resurrection, forces her to confront existences far older and greater than the Dragon God. Reassessment of the Soul Beasts' Path

The histories of Gu Li Ji, Guizhong, and Morax force Gu Yuena to confront the limits of her former reliance on destruction and war. She begins to consider protection, creation, justice, and cooperation as alternatives for the Soul Beast race. 38 68 76 79 85

Guizhong's sacrifice is particularly devastating. After watching her burn her Divine Spark, body, and soul to create the Dust World Lock, Gu Yuena coughs blood and collapses into Tang Wulin's arms. The sight simultaneously reveals the ideal of a protective god and intensifies her grief that the Soul Beasts' own hope of coexistence was repeatedly denied. 79

Elysia's refusal to obey her destructive destiny brings that reassessment closer to Gu Yuena's own life. Watching Elysia abandon her authority to become mortal, Gu Yuena tearfully asks whether she herself was wrong. 337 338

Later inventories repeatedly draw Gu Yuena's empathy because they mirror her own experiences of division, loss of agency, and being treated as a piece in another being's plan.
