Background and History

Academy years

Ino attends the Ninja Academy alongside Josuke, Sasuke, Sakura, and their future peers. She and Sakura remain friends rather than breaking apart over Sasuke, a change attributed to Josuke's presence. 4 15

She introduces herself as a Yamanaka clan member whose hobby is liking handsome boys, winking toward Josuke during her introduction. 5 Ino later approaches Josuke for help with the Clone Technique; following his advice to regulate her chakra appropriately, she successfully creates a clone that quickly dissipates. 6 She continues pursuing him by offering him sweet tea at lunch. 6

Relationship with Josuke

Ino initiates many of their early outings, including inviting Josuke to yakiniku before the Chunin Exams. Fourth Great Ninja War

During Pain's assault on Konoha, Pain learns of Ino's connection to Josuke and orders several Paths to capture her. Ino resolves not to be taken alive, but Josuke arrives in time to protect her and destroy the Animal Path. 112

Ino joins the Allied Shinobi Forces' support troops during the war. Sakura discovers that Ino is pregnant with Josuke's child, leaving Ino fearful about the baby's safety and the effect the situation might have on Josuke. 161 She considers ending the pregnancy and secretly takes an abortion pill, but Sakura intervenes and later ensures that Josuke understands Ino's fears. 162 173

Ino publicly reunites with Josuke at the Sensory Division, where he calls her his wife before the Allied Forces. 173 During the battle against the Ten-Tails, she uses her Super Mind Transfer Jutsu to seize control of Obito, an effort that exhausts her into unconsciousness. 180 Josuke later abandons his pursuit of Black Zetsu's Rinnegan to teleport to Ino's side and shield her and their unborn child from Black Rods. 196
