Power Progression
| Stage / Realm / Level | Chapter | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Founding crew | 73 | Established by Bai Chuan and Jola. Bai Chuan rejects a swordsman-only identity because he intends to recruit members with other specialties. |
| Crew-wide bounty of 1.08 billion Berry | 103 | The destruction of an elite Marine Branch raises the crew’s notoriety. Bai Chuan reaches 500 million, and Yulistin and Saral receive their first bounties. |
| Multiple Conqueror’s Haki users | 125 129 | Kurokam’s recruitment gives the crew a second confirmed Conqueror’s Haki user alongside Bai Chuan. He subsequently fights a Marine Vice Admiral. |
| Crew-wide bounty exceeding 2 billion Berry | 130 137 | After defeating the North Blue Marine force, Bai Chuan’s bounty rises to 650 million. The crew also acquires subordinate pirate groups during its subsequent voyage. |
| Admiral-contending fighting force | 226 228 | Following five years of training, Rayleigh judges at least three members capable of contending with an Admiral. The crew survives a confrontation involving Kizaru, Akainu, and Garp. |
| New World overlord | 276 279 283 | Bai Chuan defeats Kaido, and the Beasts Pirates are nearly wiped out. His bounty reaches 2.5 billion, while the World Government places the crew in the same danger category as the Whitebeard Pirates. |
| Established New World power | 293 | A conflict ends with the Big Mom Pirates fleeing. Bai Chuan reaches 2.7 billion, while Yulistin, Kurokam, and Jola approach 2 billion each. |
| Emperor-level defense without the captain | 301 | Kurokam, Yulistin, and Jola can each hold off Kaido. The crew withstands his attack on Wano without Bai Chuan, though a combined Beasts–Big Mom offensive strains its defenses. |
| Five Emperors-level crew | 318 320 | Recognized as one of the Five Emperors’ pirate groups. Supernovas mistakenly target it as the weakest, despite Bai Chuan’s reputation as the strongest after Whitebeard. |
| Strongest crew assessment; highest threat classification | 322 328 | Its executives dominate the Beasts Pirates’ executives, and the narration identifies it as the strongest crew on the seas. Sengoku assigns it the highest threat level, previously occupied by the Revolutionary Army. |
| Sole overlord of the New World | 429 | Confirmation that the Blackbeard Pirates have been completely destroyed leaves the Silver Pirate Group dominant over the remaining Emperor crews. |
History
Formation and Early Recruitment
Bai Chuan formed the crew with Jola, choosing “Silver Pirate Group” over names based on swordsmanship or his own name. He kept the reason for “Silver” secret and planned to make the Marines recognize the name by announcing it before battle 73.
While searching for a suitable vessel, Bai Chuan targeted the Tyrannosaurus Pirate Group’s small sailboat. Its captain, Riddell, subsequently joined him. Bai Chuan immediately treated the seven crews pursuing Riddell for revenge as enemies of his own crew 75 76.
By the arrival at Lagall Island, Yulistin was aboard, and the crew used Riddell’s stored treasure as a financial resource. Saral later became a wanted member after killing the Count 86 103.
Marine Pursuit and the Four Seas
The crew’s destruction of an elite Marine Branch brought worldwide attention and an order from Fleet Admiral Kong to capture every member. Bai Chuan chose to leave the Grand Line for the North Blue rather than continue along the expected route 103.
That change of course indirectly created another enemy. Marines waiting at Sabaody attacked other pirates after their ambush failed; survivors blamed the Silver Pirate Group and formed the Avengers Alliance to hunt it down 109.
In the North Blue, the crew visited islands and received wine from villagers before encountering a Marine ambush. Its members boarded the enemy warships, defeated the Marine force, and escaped after Borsalino intervened 128 129 130 131.
During the following three months, the crew sailed toward the South Blue and acquired the Hercules, Hyena, and Red Rose pirate groups as subordinates. Bai Chuan’s clash with Golden Lion Shiki further advertised the crew’s strength 137 139.
Defeat and Five-Year Separation
The Marines captured the Hercules Pirate Group and used it to draw the Silver Pirates into a trap. Sengoku led the operation alongside Sakazuki, Borsalino, and other officers. Wende rescued the prisoners, but Sengoku overwhelmed Bai Chuan, and the crew suffered serious injuries 175 176 177.
After the Navy falsely reported his death, Bai Chuan returned to his relieved crewmates and announced a temporary, five-year disbandment. They agreed to reunite at Water Seven after improving their strength 182.
The members pursued separate training paths: Jola returned to Orl, Mute apprenticed himself to a powerful leg-technique user, Adala studied under an assassin, and Yulistin wandered in search of strong opponents. Riddell retained the former ship, while Bai Chuan trained on Visalia 184.
With their flag lowered and members operating independently, the outside world interpreted the separation as the collapse of a rising crew that had existed for less than two years 184.
Return and Entry into the New World
After five years out of the spotlight, newer pirates often failed to recognize the reunited crew. The Marines nevertheless treated its return to Sabaody as a serious threat and initially prohibited unplanned attacks 219 220 223.
The ensuing battle brought Kizaru, Akainu, and Garp against the Silver Pirates. Rayleigh helped drive Garp away, and the crew departed aboard the coated Silver for Fish-Man Island 226 228.
Morgans published photographs exposing the scale of the battle despite the Navy’s misleading account. The crew learned of its new bounties while visiting Neptune’s court, and its presence deterred other pirates from causing trouble on Fish-Man Island 234 237 238.
War with the Beasts Pirates
The crew entered the New World without an ambition to obtain the Pirate King’s treasure. Bai Chuan instead set his sights on defeating the Beasts Pirates and pursuing personal vengeance 246 250.
The Giant Soldier, Hercules, and Hyena pirate groups joined the campaign. The Rose Pirate Group declined because it had joined Whitebeard; Bai Chuan accepted that decision rather than forcing its participation 249 250 251 256.
Bai Chuan defeated Kaido, and the Beasts Pirates fled Wano after nearly being wiped out. The victory established the Silver Pirates as a New World overlord and dramatically increased the crew’s bounties 276 279 281 283.
Consolidation and Later Conflicts
Over four years, the crew visited almost every island in the New World, defeated the Big Mom Pirates in a major conflict, and secretly controlled a kingdom. Its friendship with the Red Hair Pirates also strengthened 293.
During Bai Chuan’s absence, the crew defended Wano against Kaido. A later joint attack by Kaido and Big Mom proved much harder to withstand, with Taeyeon making a crucial contribution to the defense 301.
In another confrontation with the Beasts Pirates, Bai Chuan incapacitated their ordinary members with Conqueror’s Haki while his executives won their individual battles. The crew’s growing power prompted Sengoku to assign it the highest threat classification 321 322 328.
Bai Chuan later ordered a purge of subordinate groups abusing the Silver Pirates’ name. The operation removed both internal wrongdoers and spies from other factions 342 343.
The crew subsequently confronted the Blackbeard Pirates. Later accounts credited Bai Chuan with killing Kaido and defeating Blackbeard; eventual confirmation of the Blackbeard Pirates’ complete destruction established the Silver Pirates as the New World’s sole overlord 372 405 429.
Organization and Members
Leadership
- Bai Chuan — Captain and final decision-maker; directs recruitment, campaigns, and discipline among subordinate crews 161 250 342.
- Yulistin — First mate, intelligence analyst, and liaison to affiliated captains. He organizes communications and carries out Bai Chuan’s internal-purge order 251 342 354 388.
- Early succession rivalry — The crew had no confirmed second-in-command when Kurokam appeared, and members regarded him as competition for that position 125.
- Leading fighters — Kurokam, Yulistin, and Jola are identified as Bai Chuan’s three top generals. Saral, Kurokam, Jola, and Wende are later singled out as four top combatants, separately from First Mate Yulistin 301 388.
Core Crew and Post-Sabaody Bounties
The following snapshot records the bounties reported after the crew’s return to Sabaody and subsequent visit to Fish-Man Island 234 237.

| Lisa | “Scheming Doctor” 234 | 50 million Belly 234 237 |
| Adala | “Nether Step”; assassin trainee during the separation 184 234 | 50 million Belly 234 237 |
| Abro | “War Axe”; possesses a Rampage ability 234 372 | 150 million Belly 234 |
| Mute | Long Leg Tribe member; Armament Haki and leg techniques 175 184 | 80 million Belly 234 237 |
| William | Archer 234 | 80 million Belly 234 237 |
| Wende | “Storm Wende”; Logia Storm Fruit user 161 234 237 | 200 million Belly 234 237 |
| Taeyeon | Devil Fruit combatant; later called “Elf Queen” 301 322 | No bounty at this point 234 237 |
- Jola’s bounty discrepancy: Chapter 234 lists 200 million Belly, while Chapter 237 gives 500 million during the crew’s discussion of the same new posters 234 237.
- Taeyeon’s later bounties: She receives 1 million Belly at Kurola Island, then reaches 300 million after helping defend Wano 256 301.
- Yulistin’s later increase: His bounty reaches 1.5 billion after the first Beasts Pirates campaign despite his lack of participation in that battle 279 283.
Affiliated Crews
- Giant Soldier Pirate Group — Led by Dorry and Brogy; flies both its own flag and the Silver Pirates’ flag. Hilding and Stensen serve within this subordinate group 249 250 252.
- Hercules Pirate Group — A crew of muscular strongmen and sumo wrestlers. Its rescue creates a life-or-death bond with the Silver Pirates, and it readily joins the war against Kaido 137 175 176 251 256 260.
- Hyena Pirate Group — Submitted after an unsuccessful challenge. Captain Hyena Dolarang later has a 370-million bounty, and the crew includes three Zoan users 137 256.
- Red Rose / Rose Pirate Group — Originally submitted voluntarily; later joined Whitebeard and declined the Beasts Pirates campaign 137 251.
- Wider subordinate network — More than a dozen pirate groups operate under the Silver Pirates’ banner by the internal purge 342.
Culture and Rules
- Protect the ship: Battles are taken onto enemy vessels rather than fought aboard the crew’s own ship 129.
- Shared enemies: Bai Chuan accepts a recruit’s enemies as his own, demonstrated immediately after Riddell joins 76.
- Collective responsibility: The crew insists on supporting Bai Chuan’s supposedly personal mission against Kaido rather than leaving him to pursue it alone 250.
- Protection, not impunity: Subordinate crews are accepted for protection; using the Silver Pirates’ name to commit evil warrants elimination 342.
- Belonging: Morr calls the crew his home, while Riddell says he would not leave even for an invitation from Whitebeard 182.
- Bounty rivalry: Members celebrate new wanted posters and compete over their relative rewards rather than treating them solely as dangers 137 237.
- Banquets: Celebrations accompany victories, reunions, and farewells. After one North Blue victory, widespread drunkenness leaves the ship vulnerable to an intruder 131 151 182 293.
- Pirate King ambitions: The crew values the honor of serving the Pirate King. Bai Chuan promises to seek ONE PIECE if nobody finds it within three years, but later declines the position with his crew’s support 336 422.
Abilities and Combat Strength
Captain’s Protection and Battlefield Control
- Bai Chuan can envelop the ship in a barrier, protecting it from Borsalino’s light-bullet attack 130.
- His Conqueror’s Haki incapacitates ordinary Beasts Pirates across the battlefield 321.
- His Sacred Area matches Blackbeard’s Tremor-Tremor Fruit attack during their confrontation 372.
Specialist Fighters
- Jola — Develops into a Great Swordsman and later fights Douglas Bullet to a draw 234 388.
- Yulistin — Combines firearms and Gun Fu with powerful Observation Haki; he can anticipate attacks and detect distant threats 102 128 129.
- Kurokam — Possesses Conqueror’s Haki and considerable heat resistance, making Sakazuki’s attacks less effective 125 175.
- Saral — The crew’s fastest member, nearly matching Kizaru. Advanced Observation Haki and extreme speed let him overwhelm Jack and run across water or through the air 326.
- Wende — Uses his Storm Fruit for stealth and speed; successfully infiltrates Marine warships to rescue the Hercules Pirates 161 175 176.
- Taeyeon — Demonstrates offensive power reported as no less than Kizaru’s during Wano’s defense 301.
- Mute and William — Each can individually challenge a member of the Flying Six during the later Beasts Pirates battle 322.
Fleet Strength and Limits
- The Hercules, Hyena, and Giant Soldier crews can overwhelm ordinary pirate groups even without the main Silver crew 260.
- Devil Fruit users such as Riddell and Saral remain vulnerable to falling into deep water 130 139.
- The early crew is unable to withstand Sengoku’s full power; this defeat motivates the five-year training separation 176 177 182.
- Even its leading fighters have limits: only Jola achieves a draw against Bullet, while Saral, Kurokam, and Wende perform slightly worse 388.
Flag, Ships, and Equipment
- Jolly Roger — Features a skull and crossed swords. Bai Chuan designs it during the crew’s naming discussion, then considers Jola’s objections to its unlucky appearance 73.
- Riddell’s former vessel — A small sailboat selected by Bai Chuan. Its treasure room contains gold, jewels, decorative swords, and a hidden Devil Fruit 75 86.
- Silver — The crew’s later ship; receives bubble coating before the voyage to Fish-Man Island. It is agile and well-equipped compared with the much larger Giant Soldier vessel 228 249.
- Water Seven shipbuilding plans — Bai Chuan plans to replace the early vessel, commissions ships before the five-year reunion, and offers to obtain Adam Wood for Tom 137 182 192.
- Purple Sun — Bai Chuan’s sword, identified as one of the Twelve Supreme Great Fast Swords 129.
- Golden City relocation proposal — Bai Chuan considers moving the crew’s base there; the supplied account does not establish that the move occurs 357.
Relationships
- Roger Pirates — Bai Chuan’s former crew. His history gives the Silver Pirates influential friendships and leads Marines to assume Roger’s crew might intervene on their behalf 129 151.
- Rayleigh — Former mentor and trusted friend of Bai Chuan; helps repel Garp during the crew’s return to Sabaody 228.
- Red Hair Pirates — Close allies whose bond develops through Bai Chuan and Shanks’s friendship and joint celebrations 293 405 429.
- Whitebeard Pirates — Receive the Rose Pirate Group into their ranks. After Whitebeard’s death, Silver Pirates visit his former territory, and Wende offers Ace guidance on Logia control 251 341.
- Fish-Man Island’s royal family — Hosts the crew at Ryugu Palace. Neptune appreciates its lack of hostility but remains cautious, restricting residents from approaching without permission 236 238.
- Marines and World Government — Persistent enemies, responsible for repeated ambushes, bounty increases, and the crew’s highest-threat designation 103 175 226 328.
- Avengers Alliance — Survivors of the Marines’ Sabaody purge who blame the Silver Pirates for their losses. They retreat rather than enter the North Blue battle 109 128 130.
- Beasts Pirates — Major rivals defeated in successive conflicts; their destruction becomes central to the Silver Pirates’ rise 276 279 322 405.
- Big Mom Pirates — Enemies defeated in an early New World conflict; later cooperate with Kaido against the Silver crew in Wano 293 301.
- Blackbeard Pirates — Rival Emperor crew confronted by the Silver Pirates and eventually confirmed completely wiped out 372 429.
- Donquixote Family — Intimidated by the crew’s presence despite Bai Chuan owing them a favor. The Silver Pirates later discuss Doflamingo as a possible ally and betrayal risk 248 249 354.
- Straw Hat Pirates — Initially assessed as weaker but promising. Luffy later loses Bai Chuan’s assessment battle while still earning recognition as an Emperor; both crews celebrate together in Golden City 354 422.
- Revolutionary Army — The crew’s relationship with the organization remains publicly unclear 405.
