Background / History

Taiyi and his elder brother Di Jun were born on the Sun Star. They studied Divine Abilities together, attended lectures at the Purple Cloud Palace, defeated the King Father of the East, and established the Demon Court after taking over the Heavenly Court 562 1065.

Taiyi supported Di Jun's leadership during the conflict with the Human Race, arguing that war between the races was inevitable 522. Their bond later strained over Taiyi's feelings for Di Jun's wife, Xi He, and the public revelation that Taiyi surpassed Di Jun in combat power. Though they maintained a united appearance, Taiyi began making decisions independently, including a visit to the Witch Race to discuss cooperation 919 1059 1065.

Appearance

Taiyi is shown as a handsome, imposing young man; his true form is a massive Three-legged Golden Crow 199 558 1064.

• Human form: Tall, with ink-black hair partly tied in a jade crown; he wears a golden fur coat and cloak during his arrival beside Di Jun 558.
• True form: More robust than Di Jun's Golden Crow form, without its barbs, and radiating intense heat and Solar True Fire 1064.
• Appearance ranking: 22nd on the Primordial Immortal Appearance Ranking 199.

Personality

Taiyi fights aggressively and takes pride in overpowering opponents directly. Injury or public humiliation can make him reckless, though he acknowledges an opponent's strength when it becomes undeniable 571 577 578. He is pragmatic about combat, telling Huang Heavenly Emperor that “the winner is always king” when challenged over fighting fairly 568.

He is protective of those close to him: he settled Lu Ya's Dao Rhyme seed in hope of his rebirth and has long doted on his niece Chang'e 522 1067. His response to the Demon Race's later crisis also shows restraint: despite his anger over Qin Yuan's capture, he avoids disrupting the proposed Witch–Demon alliance 1222.

Taiyi wields Solar True Fire and Sun Divine Fire in both offense and defense 569 571.

• Forms a fiery Golden Crow to attack and layers of flame as defensive barriers 569 571.
• Creates fiery wings from his arms and, with the Sun God Wheel, an extensive sea of flame 571 578.
• His fire can be overcome: Huang Heavenly Emperor's flame consumes it, while Huang's meteor breaches his layered barriers 570 571.

Close-Quarters Combat

Taiyi favors forceful fist fighting and sustained pressure 567 576.

• Initially presses Ye Heavenly Emperor with his ferocity, but Ye identifies openings in Taiyi's reckless style 576 577.
• His ranked physical body remains vulnerable to severe injury from Huang and Ye Heavenly Emperors 572 580 597.

• Chaos Bell — Taiyi's Innate Supreme Treasure and one of the Heaven-Opening Three Treasures. It can attack, defend, and trap opponents; using it is costly, and Taiyi cannot draw out its full power 590 1058 1064.
• Sun God Wheel — Channels Sun Divine Fire and produces a vast sea of flames. Ye Heavenly Emperor's cauldron strikes it back during their battle 578 580.
• River Diagram and Luo Book — Di Jun's treasure, temporarily used by Taiyi against Ye. It helps him recover from a disadvantage, but he cannot wield it freely enough to do more than fight to a draw 580 583.

• Demon Emperor Di Jun — Elder brother and fellow Demon Race leader. They built the Demon Court together, but Taiyi's feelings for Xi He and his superior ranking strain their bond 1065 1059.
• Demon Empress Xi He — Di Jun's wife and the object of Taiyi's long-unrequited feelings 919 946.
• Qin Yuan — Demon Sage devoted to Taiyi. He long ignored her feelings but later acknowledges that she matters to him and asks her to stay by his side 918 1223.

• Human–Demon battlefield: Taiyi joins Di Jun against the Human Race. After fighting Huang Heavenly Emperor, he battles Ye Heavenly Emperor, whose Nine Dragons Pulling Coffin eventually suppresses Taiyi's Chaos Bell while Taiyi is exhausted from repeated injuries 558 575 598.
• Battle Power Ranking: His 33rd-place ranking confirms his position above Di Jun and intensifies their private rift 1059 1066.
• Witch Race negotiations: Taiyi travels alone to the Witch Race to discuss cooperation despite the danger of entering its territory 1065 1203.
