The morning in Theramore was unusually peaceful, undisturbed by the sound of explosions.
Deren sat at the dining table, slowly cutting bread, enjoying the long-lost Tranquility. Onyxia lazily lay on the windowsill, basking in the sun, her golden vertical pupils narrowed into slits, like a satiated big cat.
"Have the two Archmage finally returned to the Mage Tower?" Deren asked Jaina, who was pouring coffee.
"Hmm," Jaina rubbed her temples, "That Kalecgos guy is stubbornly sticking to Teacher Aegwynn, even when Teacher Antonidas bombards him with Arcane Missile, he won't leave." Her lips twitched, "Now the Mage Tower can be heard screaming from the Blue Dragon and exploding every day—but it's better than the walls being blown up."
"What do you think about this?" Onyxia asked Deren.
"That's a good thing, at least Kalecgos's fear of going out is over. With the protection of two Archmage, who would dare to kidnap him?" Deren said with a smile. He thought to himself that the ones who are troubled are those three important figures.
"That's true. I heard he's been holed up in the Nexus for a month or two, rarely even leaving his own dragon's Dragon Lair. He's been carrying around bottles all day." Chromie rolled over comfortably on Onyxia. At this rate, the Bronze Dragon will become a parasitic dragon of the Black Dragon.
Familiar footsteps sounded at the door, Vereesa and Sylvanas walked in one after the other.
"Did we miss something?" Vereesa asked curiously, noticing the conversation, and picked up a piece of bacon from her plate.
Onyxia grinned. "You missed the spectacular sight of a Blue Dragon reciting poetry in public."
"What Blue Dragon? It can't be the one that fell in love with the Sunwell last time, can it?" Windrunner looked exhausted. Recently, Theramore had raised its alert level due to the attack on its outposts, and the Windrunner Sisters had been leading the ranger forces to strengthen their combat readiness, so they hadn't had time to come and see Deren.
Speaking of Blue Dragon, Vereesa recalled the dragon scale armor she wore on her missions, which she had personally plucked from the dragon's tail.
"It's Kael. This time, the energy from the Sunwell he brought back was completely depleted, so he came to Theramore to recharge, and that's where he met Lady Aegwynn. He's fallen in love with Aegwynn again." Chromie didn't hide anything from Kalecgos, who was also a dragon.
"Lady Aegwynn! Isn't she Jaina's new teacher?" Windrunner exclaimed in surprise. The higher-ups in Theramore knew that Jaina had a new teacher. "Has that Blue Dragon gone mad?"
"Yeah, that's just unbelievable," Chromie said gleefully. "I don't even know what to say. Do all Blue Dragon have a tendency to go insane?"
"This... I don't know what to say. Are dragons really that perverted? No, I mean, dragons are so special." Windrunner quickly covered her mouth and immediately changed her words, managing to smooth over the perverted part.
Sylvanas frowned. Why did her little sister show such undisguised excitement when the word "pervert" was mentioned?
The Windrunner Sisters were still busy; they sat for a while, drank some tea, and then left. The orc threat hadn't been completely eliminated. Thrall had disappeared. Garrosh was still trying to figure out how to deal with Theramore.
The change occurred in the afternoon when an alarm suddenly shattered the Tranquility of Theramore. The last time this happened was when Blue Dragon got lost in Theramore and Arcane Arrow from a ranger on the outer outpost.
Onyxia jerked her head up, her arms instantly covered in dragon scales. "One of my kind is approaching!" She rushed to the window, then suddenly frowned, "Wait. Was he shot down?"
Deren put down his teacup. "Shot down again? Wait, why 'again'? Isn't that useless Blue Dragon acting like a lapdog?"
Before anyone could figure out what was going on, Jaina's Portal exploded in the living room, and the sorceress rushed out. " The Mage Tower just shot down a Black Dragon with its anti-air energy cannon!" she gasped, "It might have been Nefarian!"
The restaurant fell silent instantly.
Onyxia's fingernails dug into the window frame with a "snap": "My stupid brother. Why isn't he staying in Blackrock Mountain? Why did he come to Theramore?"
"Come on, let's go see him! It's rare for his brother-in-law to come over, we should be polite." Deren took Onyxia's coat and handed it to her.
In the middle of the streets of Theramore, a charred dragon silhouette lay curled up in the crater.
Onyxia nudged the dying Black Dragon dragon with her toe. "Hey, are you dead yet?"
The Black Dragon struggled to raise its head, its dark red eyes bloodshot. When it saw the person before it, it suddenly burst into tears. "Sister!"
Nefarian —the once invincible ruler of Blackrock Mountain —now groveled at Onyxia's feet like a lost child, his face smeared with snot and tears. " Stormwind City's army has breached Blackrock Spire! Those damned Blackrock Orc have betrayed us! My... my entire laboratory is destroyed!"
Deren crouched down to examine his injuries. "A broken dragon wing, scales missing, and half a dragon tail gone. Who beat you up like this?"
"It's Varian!" Nefarian sobbed. "That mad king led his army in, and the moment I showed myself, he cleaved half my body in two."
Onyxia kicked her brother's battered dragon horns with disdain. "Hurry up and turn back into a human. Black Dragon crying in the street will be all over the world tomorrow. Do you want Varian to come knocking on your door sooner? Take him back first."
Nefarian, not daring to anger his sister, quickly transformed into a black-haired youth and followed her, limping back to Deren's residence.
In the living room of the Deren family, Nefarian, wrapped in a blanket, shivered as he held a cup of hot tea. His gaze swept across the dragons filling the room: three red Dragon Maid were preparing dinner, Chromie was eating biscuits with her legs up, and his own sister was peeling an apple for a human.
"I must be dreaming," he murmured.
Deren tapped the table. "How did you get to Theramore and get shot down by the Mage Tower?"
"I didn't know where you lived in Theramore, so I hovered in the sky, trying to lure you out. I didn't expect the Mage Tower to be so powerful; one Arcane Energy cannon shot me down. Before I was injured, I could withstand an attack of this level, but I was severely wounded during the siege of Stormwind City, and even had half of my tail cut off. Naturally, I was shot down by that cannon."
"I used to always want to stay in the lab and didn't have time to visit you. Thank you for taking me in." Nefarian seemed to be in dire straits.
"What a foolish brother! Couldn't you have transformed into human form outside the city first, then come in and ask around? Theramore is Jaina's territory, she's practically a shareholder in the company, couldn't you have asked her first? You just coiled around like a dragon, you're lucky you didn't die," Onyxia couldn't help but complain.
"Well, I'm not that stupid, I just didn't think of that for a moment," Nefarian said sheepishly.
"You've been stuck in the cave kingdom of Blackrock Mountain for too long, thinking the outside world is a place where Black Dragon can run rampant. Don't you think about why I follow Deren? I'm just afraid of dying!" Onyxia didn't give herself or her brother any face at all.
First update.
