Another sleepless night. Deren dozed off on the sofa, while Aegwynn and Antonidas stayed up all night. This level of sleep deprivation was nothing to them. They were testing the new fuel for the Thermobaric Bomb. Although there were constant flashes of light, it was much better than the occasional explosions of the old Nitroglycerin.
Chromie rubbed her sleepy eyes and stumbled down the stairs. She hadn't slept well either; the constant fluctuations in the Timeline kept waking her up to check. Thankfully, they were all minor changes, and for the better. She didn't dare criticize the research of the two Archmage downstairs—what a joke, she couldn't beat Onyxia, while Onyxia was trembling with fear at the sight of Aegwynn.
When she was suddenly awakened by the Communication Crystal, Kalecgos's voice was already tinged with sobs.
" Chronormu! Teleport me to Theramore! My lover is running out of energy!" When the useless Blue Dragon returned to the Nexus, he was so busy carrying the bottle containing his Sunwell lover that he didn't even bother to memorize the teleport coordinates to Theramore.
The Bronze Dragon was still dazed and didn't quite understand why Kalecgos wanted her to teleport. As Blue Dragon, Teleportation Spell was a piece of cake for him. He simply waved his claw, and a spatial rift appeared out of thin air in the Deren family's dining room.
"Splash--!!!"
The dining table was crushed to pieces by the sudden blue giant shadow. At the last second, Kalecgos barely managed to transform back into human form, but still knocked over the entire sideboard. Silver cutlery clattered and scattered all over the floor, and a jam jar exploded on the wall like a red flower.
"Wow, what am I doing?" Chromie finally snapped out of it. "Oh no, how did I bring Kalecgos to Deren's house?"
"Uh, good morning?" Blue Dragon awkwardly raised one hand, while the other was still holding a jar containing water from his lover's Sunwell. "Where is this, Chromie? How did we get here?"
The restaurant suddenly became eerily quiet.
Deren dodged quickly but was still caught in the flying cutlery; Onyxia's dragon claw froze on the coffee cup; Jaina's lips twitched; and Anveena —the embodiment of the Sunwell —huddled in a corner in terror, like a fawn being watched by a wolf.
Kalecgos's nose twitched suddenly. His blue eyes slowly turned to Anveena, his pupils instantly dilating into discs. He also dropped the large jar he was holding.
"Oh! This energy, this concentration, is many times stronger than what I love." He murmured dreamily, a glistening drop of saliva sliding from the corner of his mouth. "No, you are my love now. What a beautiful girl!" With that, he exerted all his strength and crawled toward Anveena.
Anveena quickly hid behind Deren, while Onyxia prepared to unleash her dragon breath.
Chromie quickly stepped forward to stop him. " Kael, what are you doing? Don't frighten the girl."
With a wave of his hand, magic pulled the jar of well water to him and placed it in his hand. "Don't get it wrong, this is your true love. You swore to spend your whole life with her."
Kalecgos's eyes widened in confusion, glancing between Anveena and the well water jug in his hand. Finally, he resolutely tossed the jug aside. "No, this isn't my lover, that girl is. Oh, her energy is so captivating, the colors of her magic intoxicating."
Chromie got angry and punched Kalecgos on the head with a small fist. "Wake up! You falling in love with a well is your unique hobby. But suddenly drooling over a strange girl is perverted, harassment!"
Kalecgos, his eyes glazed over, adopted what he thought was his most devoted expression and began reciting poetry towards Anveena: "Hey, beautiful maiden, you are so radiant, even the starlight cannot rival your brilliance. The waves of magic are as vast as the ocean. Even all the flowers in the world cannot compare to a single hair of yours."
"Need any help?" a delicate voice called out. Then, in an instant, a silver chain suddenly descended from the ceiling, binding Kalecgos like a mummy. Aegwynn appeared at the other end of the restaurant, toying with an Arcane Crystal in her hand, her eyes shining frighteningly.
" Blue Dragon." She licked her lips. "The perfect Arcane experiment. You cooperated willingly, didn't you?"
Antonidas peeked out from behind her, his eyes gleaming with a fanatical light. "It's that Blue Dragon from last time, finally caught. Oh, it cooperated willingly. At least twenty-three kinds of experiments can be done." The handsome middle-aged mage stared at the Blue Dragon with eyes like two searchlights.
Kalecgos's face turned deathly pale.
"Wait, wait! I am the Aspect Dragons of the Blue Dragonflight!" Kalecgos struggled in his magical restraints. " Malygos will—"
"Oh no, my mistake! But I doubt Malygos can beat these two either." Chromie munched on an apple, completely unconcerned.
"I... I can help you with the experiments!" the Blue Dragon exclaimed, quick-wittedly. "I can sense magical energy!"
Aegwynn and Antonidas exchanged a glance. The binding spell loosened slightly.
Just as Kalecgos breathed a sigh of relief, he finally had a chance to examine the person who had casually bound him. His gaze swept over Aegwynn —or rather, over the vast, ocean-like magical energy emanating from her. The Blue Dragon's pupils dilated again, but this time not out of fear, but with an almost religiously fanatical yearning.
"Your magic!" He trembled as he reached out, completely forgetting Anveena's presence. "So pure, so powerful! What a beautiful girl! You are my true love! Let me stay by your side, your face illuminated by the morning light every day. Let you do whatever experiments you want on me, that would be my glory! Ah—" He finished speaking excitedly, letting out a scream that was inappropriate for children.
Deren sighed, rubbing his forehead. "That stupid dragon's started again."
Aegwynn raised an eyebrow, looking at the infatuated Blue Dragon with interest. "Would you like to do experiments with me?"
"Yes! Yes!" Kalecgos cried excitedly, "You are my salvation, my hope. My life as a dragon is for you!"
Antonidas roared, "Stay away from my senior sister, you lecherous dragon!" The handsome middle-aged man regretted letting this Waste Dragon get close to his beautiful senior sister.
Jaina looked at Deren in despair. "Have we gotten ourselves into some kind of human-dragon romance again?"
Onyxia grumbled, "This shift in affections is too fast. I remember he initially wanted to spend the rest of his life with a well. Just a moment ago he was pursuing Jaina, and now he's immediately chasing after a young and beautiful Archmage."
"Why do I feel like this Timeline is a complete mess?" Chromie complained.
Deren said slowly, "Perhaps the result isn't bad. It's a mutually agreeable arrangement, and multiple utility dragons are working for us! Jaina is safe too."
