Ning Rongrong and Qin Ming Stir Up Trouble (Third Update-Please Keep Reading and Bookmark)
"The Virtual Reality Saber Technique moves from illusion to reality, then from reality to illusion. The saber is no longer bound to brute force. Each feint and each true strike confuses the opponent, winning a sliver of life in a fight to the death."
"I'll break down the movements slowly so you can feel the technique's spirit. At first, you only need to copy the movements. Get the form right; don't worry about its spirit yet..."
As a teacher, Qin Yuan was patient, breaking down the movements again and again.
Lei Meng rose to the challenge and improved rapidly.
No one would argue if someone said he had flaws in his character. But if they said he didn't put effort into cultivation, Qin Yuan would be the first to object.
Lei Meng was a pure cultivation fanatic with little social awareness. At worst, his family had spoiled him: he did as he pleased and never put himself in anyone else's shoes.
Qin Yuan would correct that gradually.
Teaching was not something that could be done in a single stroke.
An hour later, seeing that Lei Meng had made some progress, Qin Yuan said with satisfaction, "Don't rush to learn what comes next. What matters most is absorbing and applying what you've just learned."
"Practice the movements that generate power until they become muscle memory. Then, in battle, you'll free up more of your mind to think of a way out."
Before long, a commotion came from outside the Training Room.
Qin Yuan opened the door and saw Ning Rongrong making faces at him.
He smiled helplessly, bent down, and asked, "Miss Rongrong, what brings you here?"
Gifted and clever, Ning Rongrong had finished the junior Soul Master Academy curriculum in just over two years.
For Support System Soul Masters, a solid grounding in basic theory was enough to enter an advanced Soul Master Academy. Unlike Battle Soul Masters, who had to undergo the tempering of battle step by step, their practical training was much easier and carried little pressure.
Ning Rongrong puffed out her cheeks in mock anger. "Big Brother Qin Yuan is so mean. You haven't come to see Rongrong in ages."
"So Rongrong came to sit in on classes at Heaven Dou Royal Academy. Rongrong heard the Soul Master Tournament is a lot of fun, and Rongrong wants to compete with the team too."
Whatever Ning Rongrong's strength, if she asked, the imperial family would certainly do her the favor.
But it was bad news for Qin Yuan.
He had a task to carry out. How could he have time to indulge Ning Rongrong's whims?
Besides, how old was Ning Rongrong? If she took the field in the fiercely contested finals of the Soul Master Tournament, with Lei Meng and the others still performing inconsistently, there was a good chance they would be knocked out in the first round.
Still, he understood how she felt.
She had few friends to talk to, and Ning Fengzhi was often busy with official affairs and had no time to keep her company.
Truthfully, a treasured daughter of a great clan like Ning Rongrong was far less happy than a child from an ordinary family.
"Miss Rongrong, why not take part in some of the Soul Fighting matches the academy organizes? Get a feel for the atmosphere first. Wouldn't it be better to enter the Soul Master Tournament when the time is right?"
Ning Rongrong had always responded better to gentle persuasion than force, and Qin Yuan's words struck a chord with her.
"That's right! Rongrong hadn't thought of that." She turned to the teacher beside her and urged him to take her to a Soul Fighting match.
After seeing Ning Rongrong off, Qin Yuan breathed a small sigh of relief.
Lei Meng came up beside him, grinning. "Teacher, why not arrange some playmates for Miss Rongrong? Children her age don't have time to make trouble when they're having fun."
"You know a lot about that?" Qin Yuan asked.
Lei Meng scratched his head awkwardly.
It wasn't that he knew much about children. He had simply pestered his own father in the past.
Lei Zhen was busy with official affairs all day and had always arranged playmates for him to send him away.
Now that he was older, how could he not see through those little tricks?
For some time afterward, Ning Rongrong did indeed settle down.
With her extraordinary background, plenty of people wanted to ingratiate themselves with her. As time passed, Ning Rongrong became the academy's big sister.
She had never experienced academy life before and enjoyed it immensely, so she stopped pestering Qin Yuan.
Of course, Qin Yuan also quietly corrected some of her behavior so that people like Xue Beng wouldn't lead her astray.
One afternoon, on his way to Dugu Yan's dormitory, Qin Yuan noticed a young man with a somewhat boyish face.
The young man was carrying bags of all sizes and appeared to be a new teacher at the academy.
Qin Yuan walked over and greeted them. "Teacher Jiang, is this a new teacher? Won't you introduce us?"
Beaming, Teacher Jiang drew the young man beside him forward. "Teacher Qin, this is another Teacher Qin. His name is Qin Ming, the academy's newest recruit. He's a Soul King in his twenties—a promising young talent."
Looking a little nervous, Qin Ming offered Qin Yuan his hand. "Teacher Qin Yuan, I've heard a great deal about you. I hope I can count on your guidance."
What a coincidence, Qin Yuan thought.
Qin Ming was a graduate of Shrek Academy. Judging by the original timeline, his later teaching methods would follow Shrek Academy's model to the letter.
Dugu Yan and the others had already come under his influence. Later, in their match against the Shrek Team, the Imperial Fighting Team would clearly be the wronged party, yet Qin Ming would lead them to Shrek Academy to bury the hatchet.
Qin Yuan was no saint, just an ordinary man who knew whom he liked and disliked. That bunch from Shrek Academy had never appealed to him.
After a perfunctory reply, Qin Yuan left without speaking much more to Qin Ming.
Watching him go, Qin Ming feigned surprise. "Teacher Jiang, does Teacher Qin Yuan have something against me?"
Teacher Jiang chuckled and waved away his concern. "Teacher Qin Yuan is very busy. He has to lead the team into the tournament and handle all sorts of other matters. I doubt he has much free time."
"Little Ming, spend more time with Teacher Qin and you'll understand. He's always been kind to others."
Dugu Yan had absorbed the Immortal Herb and, with Dugu Bo's help, successfully formed a Poison Core. Her cultivation had now advanced to Soul Elder.
According to the predictions of Meng Shenji and the other two Education Commissioners, Dugu Yan had a strong chance of reaching the Soul King realm by the Soul Master Tournament in five years and bringing the championship trophy back to Heaven Dou Royal Academy.
Dugu Yan and Ye Lingling were delighted to see Qin Yuan.
Dugu Bo had briefly explained the origins of the Immortal Herb to them. In short, neither of them would have received such an opportunity without Qin Yuan's help.
"Teacher Qin, I truly don't know how to thank you." Ye Lingling looked uneasy. She felt she owed Qin Yuan more and more, a debt she could never repay.
Qin Yuan didn't answer. Instead, he teased her. "I'm a teacher again now. Since you're calling me Teacher, I won't correct you."
Ye Lingling nodded earnestly, her emotions stirring.
"Thank you, Big Brother Qin Yuan," Dugu Yan said with a grin.
Qin Yuan's face stiffened in mock anger. "Now I do have to correct you. Your grandfather and I call each other brothers. Shouldn't you call me Grandpa?"
Dugu Yan stuck out her tongue playfully, then hid behind Dugu Bo.
