Background

Qin Yuan transmigrated from Earth long before the main events of the story. Contrary to his expectations, he awakened only level-five Innate Soul Power and an ordinary Battle Saber Martial Soul. His limited talent and lack of factional support left him struggling for cultivation resources; by his thirties, he had only just reached the Soul King realm. 1

After more than a decade of hardship, he established the Golden Saber Squad as a soul-hunting team. Following a mutiny during Ning Rongrong's commission, he and his childhood companion Chen Ze shifted toward running a general store while Qin Yuan continued accepting commissions. 1 3

A system appears after he accepts Ning Rongrong's commission, rewarding him for completing ranked tasks. Qin Yuan uses these commissions to gain cultivation, techniques, wealth, and knowledge while maintaining his independence from major factions. 1 3 10 19

In the Douluo world, Qin Yuan was an orphan raised by Chen Ze's parents. He was born in Halin Province and attended a Junior Soul Master Academy, where Lu Qingshan was his classmate. Lu Qingshan later died while traveling the continent, and Qin Yuan eventually adopted his identity for an undercover mission. 30 126 160

Upon graduating from the junior academy, Qin Yuan's Soul Power was only in the teens. Neither he nor Chen Ze could afford an Intermediate Soul Master Academy, and his cultivation was insufficient to attract an advanced academy's attention.
