Shrek Academy is located in the southeastern part of the Heaven Dou Empire. To its southeast lies the Star Dou Great Forest, to the east is the Heaven Spirit Empire, and to the south is the Star Luo Empire. It can be said to be at the core intersection of the three major empires.
Upon arriving at Shrek Academy, with Yan Shaozhe's help, the two quickly completed their enrollment registration.
After receiving their dormitory keys, school uniforms, and freshman badges from Yan Shaozhe, their campus life officially began.
"Meng, want to go check out the dorms?" Yue asked, fiddling with the keys in his hand and turning to Meng.
Passing through the white freshman teaching building and the yellow second and third-year teaching buildings, they reached the dormitory buildings. Although the dormitory buildings occupied a large area, there was only one. It was colored white, yellow, purple, and black, clearly representing the residential areas for students of different grades corresponding to the four teaching buildings.
"I heard Shrek's dorms are all for two people. Brother, you're a boy and can't live with me. I don't want to live with strangers." Meng swayed Yue's arm, her watery eyes blinking as if asking if he could bear not seeing his adorable sister at night.
"Alright, alright, I get it!" Yue affectionately stroked Meng's long hair. "Then, after we return the keys, we'll go out and look for a house?"
"Yay! Brother is the best!" Meng gave Yue a big hug, then took his hand and walked forward quickly.
Retracing their steps, the two soon arrived at the freshman registration area. After returning the keys, two boys and one girl approached them:
Leading the way was a girl about fifteen or sixteen years old, wearing a light blue tight-fitting outfit, her long black hair tied into a ponytail.
To her left was a boy of similar age, with short dark blue hair. Though young, he exuded a refined aura, his handsome face adorned with a lazily gentle smile.
However, Yue's gaze didn't linger on these two. Instead, it fell upon a boy with short black hair, also around his age. If nothing unexpected happened, these three were Tang Ya, Beibei, and Huo Yuhao. He just hadn't expected them to arrive at Shrek so late.
Seeing Huo Yuhao take the key he had just placed on the table from the teacher at the registration office, Yue looked at Meng gratefully. Thankfully, they weren't staying in the dorms; otherwise, a chain might have attacked him.
"Let's go, see if there are any houses for sale near the academy."
With that, Yue took Meng's hand and left the registration area, completely unaware that Huo Yuhao's gaze had briefly lingered on them.
"What a handsome young man, and that girl is beautiful too. I wonder if they're a couple or siblings."
After leaving the registration area, the two headed straight for the outer court. As Jing Hongchen's grandson, Yue had a bit of money. Considering it would just be him and Meng living together, Yue spent seven hundred and eighty thousand Gold Soul Coins to buy a small courtyard.
If friends came to visit in the future, there would be extra rooms for them.
With a few days left before the official start of school, Yue first hired people to clean the courtyard thoroughly before taking Meng out to purchase daily necessities.
Their bedrooms were adjacent, leading out to the living room. Opposite were the bathroom and toilet. The kitchen was further inside from the living room.
Although the small courtyard wasn't large, with Meng by his side, it felt very warm.
Yue also took the time to check which class he and Meng were assigned to. Both were placed in freshman Class Nine. Fortunately, it wasn't Class One; otherwise, he wouldn't have been able to stand it.
For the next few days, Yue followed his usual routine: waking up on time for cultivation in the morning, accompanying Meng shopping during the day, and spending the evenings with a sulky Xiao Ka. Strangely, poking her didn't make her deflate.
Finally, Shrek Academy's annual enrollment concluded. Yue took Meng to the academy early in the morning.
Although his purchased courtyard was only a few minutes' walk from the academy, he hadn't yet visited his class and wanted to find the way early.
Both had changed into their school uniforms, which featured a green badge on the chest. The color of the uniform corresponded to each grade. As first-year freshmen, their uniforms were naturally white.
Looking around as they walked, the two found the location of freshman Class Nine. Upon entering the classroom, they saw that most people had already arrived. They probably figured, like him, that they wouldn't know the way on the first day and wanted to find the classroom early.
After finding a seat in the front row with Meng, they waited for the teacher's arrival.
Before long, a young, beautiful, and somewhat flamboyant teacher, around 30 years old, walked in.
"Hello, everyone. I am your homeroom teacher, Mu Jin. If nothing unexpected happens, I will be accompanying you for the next six years as you study at the academy."
Mu Jin paused, scanned the students below, and her gaze fell upon Yue and Meng, seemingly with some surprise.
"Then, let's start with self-introductions so that I and your classmates can get to know you better. We'll begin with the student on the left!" she said, her gaze fixed on Yue.
Yue stood up confidently and addressed the class: "Hello everyone, my name is Yue Hongchen, I am 12 years old, a Level 35 Attack-type Soul Elder, from the Hongchen Family. I hope for your guidance in the future."
His bright and cheerful smile eased the somewhat tense atmosphere considerably. Those who were nervous about being in a new environment immediately felt more relaxed.
After Yue, it was Meng's turn. She stood up, mimicking Yue. First, she gave Yue a sweet smile before saying, "Hello everyone, my name is Meng Hongchen, I am 12 years old, a Level 33 Control-type Soul Elder, from the Hongchen Family. I hope for your guidance in the future!"
Their similar names and hair colors drew the attention of the entire class. Especially their unusually high Soul Power Levels, which immediately made them the focus of the class.
Many boys and girls stared intently at Meng and Yue, scaring Meng into leaning closer to Yue for reassurance.
After Meng was a young girl, tall with short golden hair, looking very neat. Her large, water-blue eyes had long eyelashes, and her cheeks bore a few delicate freckles.
"Hello everyone, my name is Ning Tian, I am 12 years old, a Level 31 Support-type Soul Elder, from the Nine Treasures Glazed Tile Sect. I hope for your guidance in the future!"
To her left was a girl with fiery red short hair and unusual red eyes. At first glance, she looked a bit intimidating, but upon closer inspection, her features were extremely delicate, her skin as fair as jade, though her gaze was very cold.
"Hello everyone, my name is Wu Feng, I am 12 years old, a Level 25 Attack-type Soul Grand Master, from the Nine Treasures Glazed Tile Sect. I hope for your guidance in the future."
After Wu Feng's introduction, the remaining students introduced themselves one after another, stating their age, name, and Martial Soul development direction.
As the last student finished their introduction, Mu Jin tapped the podium, drawing the students' attention. "Alright, after these brief self-introductions, you all have a basic understanding of each other. Next, we will elect a class monitor and a vice-monitor."
Mu Jin picked up a piece of chalk and wrote "Class Monitor" in large characters on the blackboard.
"You can volunteer, or..."
Before Mu Jin could finish speaking, Wu Feng suddenly slammed the table and stood up, her red short hair flaring with the movement. "I recommend Ning Tian as class monitor! She is a Support-type Soul Elder, has a good grasp of the overall situation, and is from the Nine Treasures Glazed Tile Sect." She emphasized the words "Nine Treasures Glazed Tile Sect," while her peripheral vision was fixed on Yue Hongchen.
Ning Tian raised an eyebrow at Wu Feng and gently spun her pen. "I think student Yue is more suitable. After all, his strength as a Level 35 Soul Elder speaks for itself." Her tone was casual yet scrutinizing, her water-blue eyes drifting over Yue Hongchen. "Or Meng Hongchen could do it. Not only is her strength high, but she is also a Control-type Soul Elder."
At this moment, most of the students in the class showed eager expressions. Being able to get into Shrek meant they were not lacking in talent, and coupled with their youthful vigor, they were naturally very interested in becoming class monitor.
