Background / History

Bai Ze was the Mountain Lord of a Kunlun branch courtyard when he first encountered the lost Haotian. His unusually sharp spiritual awareness recognized Haotian as extraordinary despite the concealment afforded by the Purple Firmament Token. He welcomed Haotian into his Cave Mansion, discussed the Dao with him, and gave him Jade Slips containing Primordial World cultivation inheritances without treating the gift as a debt to be repaid. 7 8

After years apart, Bai Ze received Haotian at Kunlun again. Although startled by Haotian's several Innate Spirit Treasures, he recovered quickly, explaining that he could not have reached his current position if he allowed others' superior foundations to burden his heart. Haotian's tea slightly advanced Bai Ze's long-stagnant cultivation. 48

When Di Jun personally invited him to become the Demon Race's strategist, Bai Ze hesitated over the race's fierce conduct and uncertain future. He sought Haotian's counsel, then chose to join after deciding that avoiding every danger would make his life meaningless. 67
