Background / History
Di Jun originated from the Solar Star alongside his younger brother, Taiyi. He cultivated the Pure Yang Great Dao and possessed the ambition to rule a region of the Primordial Wilderness. Haotian later judged that Di Jun's pursuit of fortune without sufficiently repaying Heaven, Earth, and living beings was a fundamental weakness of his path. 2
During Hongjun's lectures at Purple Firmament Palace, Di Jun was known as proud, domineering, and highly cautious rather than reckless. When tensions rose with Hongyun and Zhenyuanzi, he assessed the protection of the Earth Book and Houtu's arrival before acting. 17
Di Jun and Taiyi established the Demon Race, calling on awakened beings to join them and honor the Heavenly Dao. Their rise marked the beginning of a new power struggle with the Witch Race and other factions. 41
Personality
Di Jun was ambitious and politically perceptive. He recruited capable figures personally, offered Bai Ze the position of strategist, and recognized the value of culture, legitimacy, military intelligence, and stellar authority in building the Heavenly Court. 67 75 76
He was also capable of trust and reciprocity. He accepted Haotian's incarnation, Xuanzhen Daoist, as head of the Star Patrol Division, elevated him to Ziwei Great Emperor after the Dragon Clan's submission, and later entrusted him with preparations for the Heavenly Court's possible collapse. 73 76 91 108
His leadership was ultimately marked by anxiety over the future. After foreseeing a possible collapse of the Heavenly Court, he became determined to avert that fate, even at the cost of severe backlash and increasingly ruthless decisions. 90 96

Story Role / Major Arcs
Founding the Demon Race
Di Jun and Taiyi established the Demon Race and began assembling a force capable of competing with the Witch Race and the Immortal Court. 41
Building the Demon Race Heavenly Court
He recruited talented figures such as Bai Ze, accepted Fuxi and Nuwa into the Heavenly Court, cultivated the Stars of the Great Dipper Formation, and made Xuanzhen Daoist a Demon-Saint-ranked official. 67 73 74
Di Jun rewarded Xuanzhen's contributions—including the Dragon Clan's submission—with the title of Ziwei Great Emperor, a rank equal to Di Jun, Taiyi, Fuxi, and Nuwa. 76
War with the Witch Race
Di Jun led the Heavenly Court through its escalating conflict with the Witch Race. The Stars of the Great Dipper Formation repelled an attack and secured the Eastern Continent, but the decisive clash with the Twelve Heavenly God-Demon Formation ended when Pangu's True Body destroyed the stellar formation. 88 92 93
Hongjun halted the battle and decreed that demons would rule the heavens while witches would rule the earth. 93
The Ten Golden Crows and Heavenly-Secret Backlash
The birth of the Ten Golden Crows elevated Di Jun to Quasi-Saint Peak, yet it also filled him with persistent foreboding. 89
Unable to dismiss his intuition, he used the River Diagram and Luo Script with the Stars of the Great Dipper Formation to forcefully divine the future. He saw visions of the Witch-Demon War and the Heavenly Court's collapse, but suffered grave backlash. 90
Preparing Haotian as a Successor
Fearing the destruction of the Heavenly Court, Di Jun acknowledged Haotian's preparations to take it over. He offered Lu Ya as Haotian's disciple and promised the complete formation diagram, military intelligence, and eventual ownership of the River Diagram and Luo Script. 91
Before the final war, he had Haotian leave an imprint on the River Diagram and Luo Script so that they would recognize him as their next master if Di Jun died. 108
The Human-Slaughter Edict
Seeking a weapon against the Witch Race, Di Jun ordered the massacre of the Human Race to forge the Witch-Slaying Sword. Though reluctant and aware of the consequences, he refused to abandon the plan. 96
When Haotian opposed the edict and withdrew, Di Jun publicly expelled him to preserve Haotian's reputation and prevent him from being implicated in the massacre. 96
