Background / History
Fuxi originally served the Heavenly Court, but its growing identification with the Yao Race caused him to question its legitimacy as co-lord of the Primordial World. His ideal was a well-ordered world in which all races could coexist; he concluded that Di Jun's Heavenly Court had become too narrow to realize that ideal. 51 115
His discussions with Donghua became central to this change. Fuxi acknowledged Donghua as better suited to rule as Heavenly Emperor, then traveled with Donghua and the West Queen Mother through the Witch Court's lands to understand the Witch Clan firsthand. The journey confirmed his concern that the hostility between the Witch and Yao races endangered the Yao Race's future. 115 117
After severing ties with the Heavenly Court, Fuxi and Nuwa sought refuge in the Purple Mansion. He initially declined Donghua's offer to become its Imperial Sovereign because the moment was not yet right, but later accepted the role of Great Emperor who commands all spirits and formally joined the Purple Mansion. 140 215
Fuxi's ambition shifted toward perfecting the Human Immortal Dao: a cultivation system capable of drawing out the potential in human bodies and giving all sentient beings a path toward Great Luo. Donghua advised that such a Dao could only be completed by participating directly in the Human Dao's rise and leading humanity through its tribulations. 268 298
To accomplish this, Fuxi willingly reincarnated as a human. His cultivation was scattered, while his Dao comprehension remained; Nuwa sent a clone to accompany and safeguard his reincarnated life. He was born to Huaxu at Qishan and named “Fuxi, the Human Race's Fuxi” by Xuandu. 298 301
Personality
Fuxi is idealistic but pragmatic. He rejects rule based solely on race or strength, believing that authority must serve all beings and that the Human Race should be a “great fusion of all races” rather than an exclusive bloodline. 115 305
He is calm under pressure and persuasive in conflict. As a Golden Immortal facing Great Luo opponents, he halted the Huaxu tribe's civil war through reasoned appeals, publicly exposing Long Yin's betrayal and turning the tribe against him. 312
His curiosity is especially pronounced in cultivation and human affairs. As a child, he relentlessly questioned Xuandu about the Human Immortal Dao, Yin Yang, and the foundations of life; as a ruler, he turned that curiosity toward practical systems for civilization, law, agriculture, and social order. 302 367
