"Red Snake?"
Kazama Kaguya looked in surprise at the giant serpent slithering toward him.
He still remembered how this very snake had carried him across the vast ocean from Kirigakure to the Land of Eddies.
But he hadn't used Summoning Jutsu this time, so he had no idea why the snake had appeared here.
Seeing the puzzled look on Kazama Kaguya's face, Red Snake didn't dare complain in the slightest. It hurriedly said, "Lord Kazama, I've brought you a message from Lord Orochimaru."
It let out a rumbling hiss, opened its massive jaws, and spat out a scroll.
The whole sequence of movements was astonishingly quick, as if it were afraid of something.
"Orochimaru? Why's he contacting me? Does he want to trade information again?"
Kazama Kaguya used Water Release to rinse the slime off the scroll, then opened it with a frown.
There wasn't much written on it, but it wasn't about a deal with Orochimaru. It was about Danzo.
After reading it, Kazama Kaguya gave a knowing look.
"Danzo really did find out about Kimimaro. But everything's going just as I expected."
When he'd left Kimimaro at the Konoha Orphanage, he'd known that after he'd tricked Danzo, Danzo would investigate—and that Kimimaro would be exposed.
But he understood Danzo all too well.
Danzo was far too calculating.
He'd thought long and hard before leaving Kimimaro in Konoha.
First, Yakushi Nonō truly was a loving person, and the orphanage had a decent atmosphere. It could help fill the emptiness and darkness of Kimimaro's childhood. After all, he was only eight.
Second, even if Kimimaro was discovered, Danzo wouldn't let a talent like him go to waste. He'd surely want to recruit him into the Root Organization and train him. At least in the short term, Kimimaro's life wouldn't be
