Background
Young ninja from the Yamanaka, Nara, and Akimichi clans are customarily placed on teams together, though their numbers do not always allow it. Inoichi describes the three clans’ tradition as service to Konoha and support for the Hokage 8 203.
Inoichi heads Konoha’s Analysis Division and oversees its intelligence system. When Anbu interrogation fails to obtain answers from Yūhi Kurenai, they call on him to examine her. Finding no visible signs of surgery or a curse mark, he requests a Hyūga ninja for a further examination 203.
Not every Yamanaka serves in the same organization. Yamanaka Fū is a Root operative who uses the clan’s techniques for Danzō, including entering minds to control people and obtain intelligence 439.
