Gu Yue arrives at Eastsea Academy after the registration deadline and requests an enrollment test. Wu Changkong pits her against Xie Xie; she defeats him decisively using ice, fire, earth, and wind before joining Class Five. Her unusual interest in Su Qiu is apparent from the moment she arrives, particularly after seeing him manifest elemental power. 21 22

After enrolling, she repeatedly changes her appearance and seeks opportunities to spend time with Su Qiu. She invites him to the movies, pays attention to his stated preferences, and gradually reveals loneliness beneath her pursuit of companionship. 23 24 25
