Background

Tang Wulin comes from Ao Lai City and enters East Sea Academy with little spending money; the three thousand Federal Coins given by his father were meant to last an entire semester. During a school holiday, he returns to his former home despite not knowing where his parents are, determined to survive and wait for them to come back. 15 56

His first day at East Sea Academy turns violent when his roommate Zhou Changxi throws around possessions given to him by his mother. Tang Wulin retaliates in anger, sending Zhou through a window and attacking Xie Xie when he mistakes him for another aggressor. Su Qiu intervenes, calms him with wind elemental power, and later ensures Zhou—not Tang Wulin—pays for the broken window. 14 15

Personality

Tang Wulin initially lacks a clear ambition, answering that he does not know his goal when asked in class. He is nevertheless earnest and protective: he reacts fiercely when people disrespect sentimental belongings, defends Uncle Li from extortionists, and seeks strength primarily because he fears dying before seeing his parents again. 14 17 34 36

He can be naïve in unfamiliar social settings, such as causing a disturbance at a Star Luo state ceremony after being startled awake. He later recognizes that Old Tang misled him about the Golden Dragon King and reassesses the crises surrounding his body. 164 165 64

Abilities & Skills

Blue Silver Grass / Blue Silver Emperor

Tang Wulin is trained toward the Control System path, using his resilient plant Martial Soul to bind enemies and support allies. 26

  • Uses Blue Silver Grass to restrain Guang Long while Xie Xie threatens him into apologizing. 34
  • Combines Blue Silver Grass with his Thousand Refined Tungsten Steel Hammer in combat. 26 27
  • As Blue Silver Emperor, creates a dense net capable of delaying powerful vengeful spirits; the vines regenerate after being corroded. 207
  • Its binding power can be overwhelmed by opponents of much higher cultivation. 140 207

Physical Strength and Dragon Claw *(former Golden Dragon King effect)*

After absorbing the first Golden Dragon King seal, Tang Wulin’s raw strength rises dramatically. 44

  • Registers 1,156 kilograms with his left hand and 1,348 kilograms with his right hand. 44
  • Manifests pale golden scales over his arm and strikes with nearly 4,000 kilograms through Dragon Claw. 44
  • This power is no longer within him after Na'er extracts the Golden Dragon King essence. 57

Forging

Tang Wulin practices blacksmithing and competes in the Tianhai Alliance Grand Competition. 63 75

  • Cannot yet perform Spirit Forging, preventing him from creating spirit-alloy equipment that can adapt to a wearer’s changing body. 120

Divine Protection

Tang Wulin receives protection from two separate divine remnants during the Golden Dragon King crisis. 57

  • Tang San leaves a final point of divine power in his brow to protect his soul from dispersing. 57

  • Xie Xie — Roommate and close friend. Xie Xie shares the memories tied to Uncle Li’s stewed-beef shop with Tang Wulin, and the two defend Uncle Li together. 34 36
