History

The Konoha Science Academy used members of the Yuki Clan as its primary successful subjects for Frost Dragon Bloodline fusion. Their existing Ice Release made the transplantation unusually compatible compared with other test subjects. The process heightened their physical strength, extended their lifespans to at least twice that of ordinary humans, and enabled direct mastery of Ice Release transformation. 152

The successful subjects were incorporated into Konoha as a new combat ninja unit under the Yuki name. Uchiha Takeyasu intended for them to become aerial Frost Dragon Riders, but the dragons' bestial factors initially made the warriors aggressive, greedy, and vulnerable to losing their humanity.
