Background & History

Amegakure was located in the Land of Rain, a country bordered by the Lands of Earth, Wind, and Fire. Its urban landscape was defined by dim skies, incessant rainfall, towering steel structures, extensive pipes, and sewers. 85

Following Uchiha Takeyasu's defeat of three major village leaders, Hanzo received Uchiha Rai, Uchiha Baru, and Uchiha Naka, who had been assigned to train in Amegakure. Their clashes with Hanzo developed from provocation and defeat into sparring and friendship; all three Uchiha youths advanced from Elite Jonin to Kage-level combatants after life-or-death battles there. 85

Hanzo sought an introduction to Takeyasu because he wanted the Land of Rain to develop rather than remain behind Konoha's expanding order. 85 Amegakure later competed in the Black Horn Domain against Iwagakure and other villages, initially ranking fourth among the participating forces. 119

After defeating Chiyo of Sunagakure, Hanzo secured Amegakure's recognition as a Kage Village. He pledged allegiance to Konoha and adopted the title of Amekage, while Takeyasu required the village to assemble at least one hundred Jonin within three years. 121

During the expansion into the Mana Continent, Amegakure invaded the Bahamas Empire.
