Background

The Wu Clan considers itself Pangu's orthodox lineage. Every Wu was born from Pangu's blood, with the Ancestral Shamans originating from his essence blood; consequently, the clan regards all Wu as siblings without an inherent distinction of rank, even though its members naturally revere strength and the Ancestral Shamans 2 3.

Before the Yao Race established the Heavenly Court, the Wu Clan had called itself a clan but had never formally sworn an oath to the Heavenly Dao. Dijiang considered doing so to secure recognition and contend with the Yao Race's expanding fortune, but the Ancestral Shamans resisted the implication of submitting Pangu's descendants to the Heavenly Dao 1. Chu Xuan repeatedly argued that a formal establishment would turn the Wu Clan into a pawn of the great tribulation; the clan continued to operate without seeking such recognition 3 109.

The clan's rivalry with the Yao Race is rooted in both survival and ambition. Wu cultivate powerful physical bodies and must feed on the Demon Race, while both factions seek the position of master of Heaven and Earth 14.

Leadership and Organization

Former tribal leader Dijiang Eldest Ancestral Shaman and original leader of the Wu Clan. He managed the clan's future, led its major decisions, and later ceded the position to Chu Xuan 1 142.
Tribal leader Chu Xuan Accepted Dijiang's position; the Witch Race's Great Fortune surged after his succession, which he concealed with the Authority of Luck 142.
Core leadership Twelve Ancestral Shamans The clan's principal combatants and decision-makers. Houtu was absent from Chu Xuan's succession because she was evolving at the time 142.

Society and Limitations

  • The Wu Clan values directness, physical strength, and open expression; its members are commonly described as rough, straightforward, and magnanimous 3.
  • Unlike Primordial Spirit Immortal Dao cultivators, Wu cultivate bloodline True Bodies and law True Bodies rather than mana 5.
  • Every Wu possesses Law Fragments inherited from Pangu's blood. The completeness of these fragments and the strength of the resulting True Body determine an individual's potential 5.
  • The clan has no Primordial Spirit, preventing it from attending Dao lectures and making it difficult for ordinary members to perceive, evade, or dissolve Heavenly Dao tribulations 39 83.
  • Its population is exceptionally limited: the Pangu Heart can nurture only a small number of new Wu, while natural reproduction is extremely difficult for beings formed from Pangu's blood 67.
  • After countless epochs, the clan has only a few billion members, many of whom are born below the Golden Immortal realm; this is negligible compared with the countless trillions of other Primordial races 67.

Abilities & Assets

Law True Bodies

The Wu Clan's fundamental path is the cultivation of physical Law True Bodies. Rather than refining mana, members develop the law fragments embedded in their Pangu bloodline 5.

  • Wu are born with authority over laws, making even low-ranking members inherently formidable 5.
  • A Wu Quasi-Saint becomes stronger by reinforcing and cultivating a greater number of laws within their body 88.
  • Their physical bodies can withstand tribulations that would threaten ordinary cultivators; Hou Yi's blood and qi dispersed the Nine Calamities' Tribulation Qi after he easily endured Wind, Water, and Fire Calamities 22.
  • The absence of a Primordial Spirit limits their interaction with the Heavenly Dao and leaves them vulnerable to tribulation systems designed around Karma and Tribulation Qi 83.

Pangu Great Hall

Pangu Great Hall is the clan's ancestral sanctuary, built around the Pangu Heart and used as both a strategic fortress and a weapon 17.

  • The Twelve Ancestral Shamans can activate the hall to obscure heavenly secrets, preventing Hongjun from seeing their actions for several eras 6.
  • Within the hall, Chu Xuan is unaffected by Hongjun's saintly pressure; the sanctuary is not subject to suppression by either the Heavenly Dao or Saints 17.
  • During the assault on the Demon Heavenly Court, the hall shattered space, crushed the Heaven Realm, and nearly destroyed the Heavenly Court 14.
  • The Pangu Heart is also a source of new Wu, though its weakening limits the clan's future population growth 67.

Heavenly Tribulation Great Dao

The Wu Clan helped Chu Xuan establish the Heavenly Tribulation Great Dao, evolving calamities in Pangu Great Hall while each Ancestral Shaman governed a specific calamity 6.

  • The system disrupted Eastern Emperor Taiyi's attempt to refine the Heavenly Tribulation Dao Fruits, causing a backlash that severely reduced his cultivation 15.
  • A deliberate rule made tribulations against the Wu Clan unusually weak, since the clan lacks Primordial Spirits and gains little from spiritual tempering 22.
  • The clan's Dao Ancestors can trace unusual Tribulation Qi through their authority, as they did when identifying a Heavenly Dao tribulation targeting the Wu Clan 83.
  • This advantage is not absolute: the clan cannot simply evade the Karma-based tribulations imposed by the Heavenly Dao 83.

Twelve Heavenly Gods and Demons Sha Formation

The Twelve Ancestral Shamans developed a formation capable of summoning a Pangu phantom, transforming their shared lineage into collective combat power 35 36.

  • Its incomplete prototype possessed late Quasi-Saint-level power 36.
  • The formation cannot be fully wielded by a single Ancestral Shaman; the clan risks being defeated individually if its members cannot assemble 36.
  • At full strength, the Pangu phantom reaches the Saint realm and shattered the Yao Race's Great Formation of the Heavens Stars in one attack 160.
  • The formation's power derives from reconstructing a portion of Pangu's cultivation rather than merely combining twelve Quasi-Saint cultivations 160.

Zombie Lineage

Shebishi established the Zombie Lineage through the Wu Clan's Postnatal Creation Great Dao and Biochemical Investigation path 73 76.

  • The lineage creates True Howls and zombies that draw upon earth's Sha Qi and devour blood and flesh 76 77.
  • Corpse Poison can infect living beings and transform them into zombies, allowing the lineage to expand rapidly 77.
  • Zombies are postnatal creations rather than true Wu; their intelligence is limited and they can rise only to Primordial Unity Golden Immortal 77.
  • The Zombie Race was created to address the Wu Clan's shortage of middle- and low-level troops and to serve as a mercenary force against the Demon Race 67 77.

Major Arcs

Heavenly Court Conflict

The Wu Clan initially debated whether to seek Heavenly Dao recognition in response to the Yao Race's Heavenly Court. Instead, it adopted Chu Xuan's Heavenly Tribulation plan, concealed its actions through Pangu Great Hall, and struck the Demon Heavenly Court to stop Eastern Emperor Taiyi from refining the Heavenly Tribulation Dao Fruits 1 6 14.

The assault routed Demon Race Zenith Heaven Golden Immortals, damaged the Heavenly Court, and left Taiyi severely wounded after the Dao Fruits rebelled against him 14 15. Hongjun's second lecture halted the clan before it could pursue a decisive war 16 17.

Calamity of Killing and Saint Position Struggle

Following Chu Xuan's schemes, the Wu Clan began covertly escalating conflict among Great Divine Ability Users while concealing its involvement 32. It used its lack of interest in Saint Positions to offer protection to the Three Pure Ones and seek future favors from prospective Saints 42.

By the end of this struggle, the clan had forged ties with Nuwa and the Three Pure Ones, while Xuanming claimed that four of the future five Saints would be tied to the Wu Clan 51.

Zombie Race and Wu–Yao War

To counter its demographic weakness, the Wu Clan created the Zombie Lineage and openly mobilized its new forces. Other powers immediately interpreted the creation of an infectious zombie army as preparation for war against the Demon Heavenly Court 77.

The Demon Race invaded, but the Ancestral Shamans overwhelmed its Zenith Heaven Golden Immortals. Dijiang later declared that a major Wu–Yao war would occur within one hundred thousand years, while both sides withdrew to prepare their respective formations 78 80.

Succession and Saint-Level Power

Dijiang ceded the leadership of the Witch Race to Chu Xuan, causing a surge of Great Fortune that accelerated the clan's collective breakthroughs 142 143. With Chu Xuan as leader and the Ancestral Shamans' formation complete, the Witch Race revealed Saint-level battle power and crushed the Yao Race's greatest defensive formation 160.

Reincarnation Crisis

When Reincarnation produced a Pangu phantom that began absorbing the Primordial World's origin, outside powers feared that the Witch Race intended to resurrect Pangu 209. Chu Xuan instead calmed the Ancestral Shamans' emerging wills and privately rejected any plan that would restore Pangu at the expense of the clan's interests 209 210.
