Background
Hongjun established and unified the Primordial Spirit Immortal Dao, becoming its Dao Ancestor. His cultivation path depends on supplementing the Heavenly Dao through the growth of the Immortal Dao, allowing him to pursue integration with the Dao. This arrangement is fundamentally unstable: developing the Immortal Dao strengthens Hongjun, but also strengthens the Primordial Wilderness and the Heavenly Dao that restrains him. 7 21
He attained the Dao following the ancient conflict involving the Three Clans and Devil Ancestor Luohu. The Devil Race perished, while the other supreme participants either died or fled, leaving Hongjun as the one who achieved Dao. 3
Hongjun originally intended to complete his third sermon and Dao Integration before publicly fixing the Saint Positions and distributing Hongmeng Purple Qi. Repeated disruptions—including the early Heavenly Tribulation, the exposure of the cushions’ significance, East Prince Gong’s death, and Zhunti’s fall—forced him to advance his plans and shoulder worsening karmic backlash. 29 48 53
Appearance
Hongjun is most often depicted as an imposing, indistinct saintly figure associated with purple qi, the Heavenly Dao, and the broken Creation Jade Plate. When he descends personally, his robes billow as his Saintly might compels weaker beings to kneel. 109
- His figure is frequently submerged within or connected directly to the Heavenly Dao. 108 165
- He carries the shattered Creation Jade Plate above his head when exerting great power. 108 109
- His presence can freeze Earth, Wind, Water, and Fire, while distorting time and space. 64
Personality
Hongjun is calculating, patient, and intensely concerned with preserving control over the Heavenly Dao’s future. His sermons, Saint Positions, spiritual-treasure bestowals, and interventions in the Demon Race are all treated as parts of a larger effort to stabilize the Immortal Dao, manage Karma, and complete Dao Integration. 21 65 110 166
He is not passive when challenged. Though his incomplete integration often prevents direct action, he reacts with visible fury when his plans, authority, or old secrets are threatened. The Heavenly Demon Great Dao and the prospect of Luohu’s return repeatedly unsettle him, especially when they expose his Inner Demon connected to Pangu. 57 65 108 110
Hongjun also displays clear favoritism toward his disciples. He grants the Three Pure Ones, Nuwa, and Jieyin powerful treasures and Saint-related opportunities, while refusing Jieyin’s plea to restore Zhunti. 65 102 106

Story Role / Major Arcs
Heavenly Tribulation and the Early Sermons
The premature emergence of the Heavenly Tribulation disrupts Hongjun’s planned Dao Integration and threatens the spread of the Immortal Dao. He continues preaching to maintain balance, while privately suspecting that an unknown force is manipulating the Heavenly Dao’s evolution. 7 21
Saint Positions and Western Karma
When the secret of the Zixiao Palace cushions spreads, Hongjun is forced to stabilize the future Saint Positions before his intended timetable. East Prince Gong’s death and Zhunti’s fall further destabilize the Heavenly Dao, compel an early sermon, and worsen Hongjun’s karmic burden. 29 48 53
Heavenly Demon Great Dao Crisis
The emergence of the Heavenly Demon Great Dao undermines Hongjun’s Immortal Dao and introduces a figure resembling Luohu. Hongjun identifies the being as Jidu rather than his old rival, but the incident exposes the vulnerability of his incomplete Dao Integration and brings his Inner Demon to the surface. 57 58 64 65
Calamity Dao and Suppression of the Wu Clan
Hongjun establishes the Heaven and Earth Calamity and becomes the Calamity Dao Ancestor. The new tribulation system benefits Primordial Spirit cultivators while placing the Wu Clan at a disadvantage due to their lack of Primordial Spirits. 82 84
Hongmeng Purple Qi and Open Intervention
Pressed by Western Karma and the threat of rival systems, Hongjun distributes Hongmeng Purple Qi ahead of schedule and pushes Gods toward Quasi-Saint breakthroughs. When Chu Xuan interferes with the Heavenly Dao through Karma, Hongjun descends personally with his full Saintly might and attempts to destroy the intruder. 106 107 109 110
Loss of the Phantom and Creation Jade Plate Fragment
Hongjun dispatches a Saint-level phantom to preserve the Yao Race’s Heavenly Court and rebuild the Great Formation of the Heavens Stars. The phantom is ultimately destroyed by Pangu’s phantom, and part of the Creation Jade Plate falls into the Witch Race’s hands. 162 163 164
Reincarnation Conflict
After repeated backlash and suppression, Hongjun seeks to use the Yao Race’s Heavenly Court and Houtu’s Reincarnation to delay the Witch Race, recover his strength, and prepare Nuwa’s sainthood. Chu Xuan identifies the scheme and moves to obstruct it. 166 167 168
Battle Against Luohu and Chu Xuan
Hongjun openly punishes Zhen Yuanzi and Minghe, using the conflict to lure out Luohu and absorb the Heavenly Demon Great Dao. The confrontation becomes a trap: Chu Xuan emerges through the Myriad Soul Banner, strikes Hongjun, and later severs Hongjun’s karmic links to Zhen Yuanzi and Minghe through Reincarnation, forcing Hongjun back into retreat. 226 227 228 230
