As Shinji wore down Ōtsutsuki Isshiki, Black Zetsu betrayed Obito’s plan and ambushed Isshiki with Kaguya Otsutsuki’s chakra. Black Zetsu began restraining Isshiki, while Shinji and the others watched in surprise.

• Black Zetsu claimed Madara had left him a jutsu to restrain an enemy, and Obito agreed to cover him.

• Black Zetsu explained that he had used Madara Uchiha, Obito, and Nagato to prepare a vessel for Kaguya Otsutsuki, then targeted Ōtsutsuki Isshiki after Shinji disrupted his original plan.

• Ōtsutsuki Isshiki unleashed Toneri’s stored Golden Wheel Reincarnation Explosion and erased Black Zetsu, then Shinji challenged the exhausted Isshiki to continue fighting.
• Uchiha Hikari entered Isshiki’s alternate dimension, found Karin, and learned that Toneri was trapped beneath a black cube.
