Ch. 384Andeni's Lies

After advancing his [Dragon Species] talent, Gauss returned to the Red Dragon Group and began preparing to break through to Level 7 in an Adventurer’s Guild training room. Meanwhile, halfling Andeni set out toward the Emerald Forest, reflecting on the bone wand she had given Gauss and admitting she had lied about where it came from.

  • Gauss examined the tougher body, dragon scales, faintly golden blood, and rapid healing he gained from the [Dragon Species] advancement.
  • Gauss returned to the Red Dragon Group, where Ivan reported that their two shops were establishing themselves and their staff had processed the goblin spoils.
  • Gauss noticed that Any Door had reached lv4 and, sensing his Level 7 breakthrough was near, rented an advanced training room and began meditating.
  • Andeni prepared to enter the Emerald Forest and thought of Gauss, the bone wand she had given him, and her lie that she had found it in a cave.
  • Andeni recalled that an old gentleman had entrusted the wand to her decades earlier, then vanished with [Andeni's Invisible Phantom] and headed south.

Ch. 385Profession Level: 7

Gauss completed his breakthrough to Level 7 as a Magic User and Level 5 as a Sword Soul, then spent several days testing and integrating his new strength. Back at the Red Dragon Group headquarters, he received updates about Alya and an invitation to lecture at Karksa Magic Academy.

  • Gauss gained Agility, Intelligence, and Perception, assessed himself as capable of contending with weaker Transcendent Professionals, and resolved to keep avoiding stronger opponents.
  • Gauss left Falim and spent three days unleashing his magic and abilities until he had integrated the strength from his breakthrough.
  • Gauss returned to Red Dragon Group headquarters and reassured receptionist Danni that she could read during quiet periods without neglecting her work.
  • Ivan hurried to meet Gauss and reported that Alya had gone to prepare for her breakthrough with Shadow and Hefis, and that Karksa Magic Academy had invited Gauss to give a lecture.
  • Ivan explained that Karksa Magic Academy was Falim’s leading Spellcaster academy, where he himself had trained.

Ch. 386Gauss, a Rising Star

Gauss visited Karksa Magic Academy with Ivan to meet other spellcasters and gauge his abilities against them. The academy’s faculty welcomed him after hearing of his extraordinary Level 7 achievement, and the chapter left him receiving their astonished attention.

  • Gauss accepted Ivan’s offer to accompany him to Karksa Magic Academy and traveled there with him.
  • The guards admitted Gauss and Ivan after checking the academy’s invitation, and Ivan explained the academy’s program and its talented students.
  • Director Allen Victor escorted Gauss to the reception room, where Vice Dean Gilan Xavier and numerous senior spellcasters welcomed him.
  • Gauss learned that news of his Level 7 status and young age had spread through Falim’s mage circles, earning him sensational nicknames.

Ch. 387Professor Gauss

Gauss revealed his powerful Dragon Vein Aura at Karksa Magic Academy, impressed the students with a practical lecture, and accepted a well-paid Guest Professor position. He returned to the Red Dragon Group estate, where Alya learned about his new job and asked if he needed an assistant.

  • Gauss demonstrated his magic and revealed Dragon Horns, convincing the academy faculty that his exceptional Talent came from his powerful Dragon Vein bloodline.
  • Gauss lectured the students on spell models and practical combat techniques, then answered their questions for nearly two hours.
  • Vice Dean Gilan Xavier offered Gauss 100 gold coins per lecture and access to the academy library, and Gauss signed a contract to become a Guest Professor.
  • Gauss and Ivan returned to the Red Dragon Group estate, where Gauss found Alya back from her successful breakthrough.
  • Alya read Gauss's contract, reacted to his lecture fee, and asked whether he needed an assistant.

Ch. 388Albenna, Blessed by the Gods

Gauss and Albenna discussed her new 3rd Ring spells before Gauss led the Red Dragon Group to intercept a Gnoll troop threatening nearby villages. Hefis’s dragon flame devastated the Gnolls as Gauss’s companions and forces closed in around them.

  • Gauss offered Albenna money for spells, but she explained that the Lady of Moonlight had granted her Moonlight Vines and Floral Ward after she reached level 5.
  • Albenna demonstrated both spells, and she spent the following days practicing them while Gauss took jobs on his own.
  • Gauss and his team tracked a Gnoll troop through the forest after learning it had destroyed a village, while Gauss killed a Goblin that had been overcome by fear of his aura.
  • Gauss summoned Hefis above the Gnoll camp, and the sight of the dragon caused the demoralized troop to try to flee.
  • Hefis’s dragon flame killed more than three hundred Gnolls, while Alya, Albenna, Ulfhen, Ike, the Dwarves, shadow clones, and clay creatures blocked their escape routes.
  • Gauss activated Proof of Leadership and ordered his companions to attack.

Ch. 389[Feast]

Gauss and his teammates annihilated a Gnoll camp, then spent half a month completing more expeditions and building up Commander Points. He advanced his Special Stomach Talent into Feast, gaining greatly improved digestion and the ability to store magic-restoring Feast Power, but the evolution left him extremely hungry.

  • Gauss and his teammates surrounded and destroyed the Gnoll camp, adding more than 1,400 kills to his total.
  • Gauss asked Toga how the battle had felt, then directed the group to collect the spoils and discovered the new Hunting skill.
  • Over the next half month, Gauss led several more expeditions and accumulated enough Commander Points to advance Special Stomach.
  • Gauss spent 60 Commander Points to evolve Special Stomach, enduring the transformation of his digestive organs in his training room.
  • Special Stomach advanced into the purple-quality Talent Feast, which improved nourishment extraction and let Gauss store up to two units of Feast Power.
  • Gauss found himself ravenously hungry after the advancement and used Mage Hand to pull food toward him.

Ch. 390The Potion-Popping Saintly Physique

After gaining [Feast], Gauss discovered that eating replenished his energy and that the Talent amplified the effects of potions. He and Alya then arrived at Karksa Magic Academy, where Gauss was about to teach a class to students with mixed expectations.

  • Gauss ate enough to satisfy his powerful hunger, bringing his Feast Power to two charges, and considered how his advancing powers affected his forms.
  • Gauss visited Albenna and offered to borrow books for her from the academy library, then asked Ivan if he wanted books as well.
  • Ivan gave Gauss concentrated energy paste, an energy-restoring potion, and a Rock Potion; Gauss tested the Rock Potion and found that [Feast] made its defensive effect unusually strong.
  • Gauss took the energy paste and restorative potions, noted that [Feast] enhanced their benefits, and decided Ivan could improve the paste's energy and flavor.
  • The next day, Gauss and Alya arrived at Karksa Magic Academy, where Evelyn welcomed them and led them toward the students waiting for Gauss's class.

Ch. 391The Great Thing Is, You Don't Need to Prove Yourself to Me

Gauss taught a practical lesson on reducing the mana cost of Magic Missile, demonstrating the technique and guiding the students through their own attempts. He ended by telling them they could still become powerful spellcasters without matching his exceptional Talent.

  • Gauss arrived at the academy courtyard with Evelyn and began teaching the students how to cast Magic Missile using less mana.
  • Dale volunteered to demonstrate her spell, and Gauss assessed her casting before showing how his own Magic Missile could use less mana while remaining powerful.
  • Gauss gave Dale personalized adjustments, and she successfully cast a weaker Magic Missile on her next attempt.
  • Gauss coached the other students, using Dispel Magic to stop failed attempts and helping nearly all of them learn the technique.
  • A student asked how to develop Talent like Gauss's, and Gauss said they could not match his Talent but did not need to compete with him to become masters or stronger spellcasters.

Ch. 392The Damned World

Gauss borrowed books and practiced magic while the Red Dragon Group’s work made it famous and depleted local requests. After reading news of a serial killer, a reopening labyrinth, and a town devastated by a Medusa curse, Gauss set out with Shadow to find a high-level commission and relieve his frustration by hunting monsters.

  • Gauss and Alya borrowed nearly forty books from the academy library, and the vice dean exempted Gauss from the usual borrowing limit.
  • Gauss studied new cantrips and spells, practiced magic, and raised his Monster Kill Count to 27,888 as the Red Dragon Group cleared requests across the area.
  • Gauss read that a serial killer had murdered eight people, Barry’s underground labyrinth might reopen, and a Medusa curse had turned eighty percent of Grimm Town’s residents to stone.
  • Gauss felt agitated by the news from Grimm Town and asked Shadow to accompany him to the guild to seek a high-level commission.

Ch. 394The Red Dragon Group Set Out

Gauss chose three high-risk commissions near Blackwater Town and prepared the Red Dragon Group for an expedition, splitting the group between a river journey and an advance scouting party. After flying to Grayrock Town aboard Hefis, Gauss was welcomed as the town’s hero and allowed through the gate without inspection.

  • Gauss accepted seven-star commissions to clear Swamp Orcs, Kobolds, and goblins from three locations near Blackwater Town.
  • Gauss briefed the Red Dragon Group and assigned Ivan and Toga to take the main party by river while he and his companions scouted ahead.
  • The Red Dragon Group spent two days preparing, then Ivan and Toga led the main party aboard a ship as Gauss and his companions flew south on Hefis.
  • Gauss and his companions arrived at Grayrock Town, where they saw crowds of adventurers gathering before the journey to Blackwater Town.
  • The town guard captain recognized Gauss, welcomed him as the hero who had saved Grayrock Town, and let his party enter without inspection.

Ch. 395Undercurrents Surge

Gauss returned to Grayrock Town, arranged a temporary headquarters for the Red Dragon Group, and prepared to head toward the monster-overrun Blackwater Town area. There he met the leader of another Falim adventure group, and as Gauss returned home, he spotted a familiar burly figure.

  • Gauss asked Eberhard to secure a headquarters for the Red Dragon Group, and Eberhard warned him that powerful monsters had gathered near Blackwater Town.
  • Gauss welcomed Ivan, Toga, and the Red Dragon Group’s convoy into Grayrock Town and settled them into a mansion provided by the guild.
  • Gauss told his squad to rest for the day and prepare to travel with him toward Blackwater Town the next morning.
  • Gauss met Wolf and Luna of the Fang of the Azure Wolf, and Wolf suggested their groups cooperate in Blackwater Town.
  • Wolf told Luna that Gauss was exceptionally strong, while Gauss’s companions discussed Wolf’s abilities.
  • Gauss returned to his residence and spotted a familiar burly figure outside his courtyard.

Ch. 396Gron's Request

Gron asked Gauss to help rescue his late companion’s children from an underground safehouse in monster-occupied Blackwater Town. Gauss agreed to consider the dangerous mission, gathered the Red Dragon Group to plan it, and reassured Gron the next morning that he could handle the risk.

  • Gron visited Gauss and explained that his old adventuring companion had died in Blackwater Town, leaving his two children hidden in a stocked underground safehouse.
  • Gron offered his savings and assets as payment for help rescuing the children, and Gauss said he would discuss the request with his team before answering.
  • Gauss convened the Red Dragon Group, assigned most members to operate around Blackwater Town’s perimeter, and chose Shadow and Alya to accompany him inside.
  • Gron arrived the next morning intending to withdraw his request, but Gauss pointed out that Gron could not safely rescue the children alone.
  • Gauss told Gron he would help and assured him that his strength was greater than Gron realized.

Ch. 397The Adventurer Group's New Mechanic

Gauss led the Red Dragon Group into monster-controlled Blackwater Town, using battles along the way to train its ordinary members and discovering that their kills contributed to his Adventurer’s Handbook count. He left most of the group at a captured village and set out with Gron, Alya, and Shadow toward the children’s rescue, wary that monsters and the Dragon Worship Cult might target him.

  • Gauss’s convoy reached an adventurer camp near Blackwater Town, where the Red Dragon Group established a temporary base.
  • After crossing into monster territory, Gauss ordered the Third Squad to fight an attacking force of goblins; the adventurers killed them with five injuries and no deaths.
  • Gauss discovered that ordinary Red Dragon Group members’ monster kills partly counted toward his total, and he tested the sharing mechanics as the group fought deeper into the region.
  • Gauss ordered Ivan and the others to rest in a captured gnoll village while he kept the rescue mission secret from most of the group.
  • Gauss, Gron, Alya, and Shadow continued toward Blackwater Town, while Gauss avoided flying Hefis to keep from drawing attention from hostile monsters.

Ch. 398Transcendent Centaur

Gauss and his companions entered monster-infested Blackwater Town to rescue Gron's friend's children, but a powerful dragon-blooded centaur named Isenthor discovered them. Gauss drew Isenthor away and escaped by teleporting through the river, then reunited with the others and the rescued children.

  • Shadow scouted a route into Blackwater Town, and Gauss's team entered the town and followed Gron toward his friend's house.
  • Gauss discovered Isenthor, a gigantic supernatural centaur guarding a plaza near the house, and warned the others to prepare for a fight.
  • Isenthor recognized Gauss and attacked him with a massive arrow, which Gauss dodged before using Magic Missile to cover Shadow and the others as they rescued the children.
  • Gauss fled with Isenthor and several wyverns in pursuit, then used Any Door repeatedly and swam underwater to evade them.
  • Shadow, Alya, Gron, and the two rescued children waited at the agreed meeting place until Gauss returned safely.

Ch. 399When the Red Dragon Descended

Gauss rescued Seraphina and Edgar and helped Gron take them toward a safer home in Falim. After learning that monsters across the region were hunting him, Gauss led the Red Dragon Group to the Hot Stone Mine, where a red dragon began destroying the kobold clan.

  • Gauss brought Seraphina and Edgar back to the Red Dragon Group’s camp, where Theron treated them.
  • Gron decided to raise the children and take them to Falim, while Gauss declined his promised commission fee.
  • Gauss overheard goblins discussing orders to capture the horned human, and he and his teammates realized monsters knew about him.
  • Gauss ordered the Red Dragon Group to eliminate the kobold mine’s guards and seal all five exits.
  • A colossal red dragon descended over the Hot Stone Mine and unleashed fire, consuming the miners, overseers, and ore.

Ch. 400Kill: 30,000

Gauss and Hefis slaughtered the kobolds in their mining valley while the Red Dragon Group ambushed those trying to escape. After reaching 30,000 kills and gaining new rewards, Gauss confronted the kobold chieftain’s fiery attack and Blinked toward the chieftain’s candle, intent on claiming it.

  • Gauss and Hefis burned through the kobolds as Gauss’s Monster Kill Count climbed, while the kobold chieftain prepared to fight with a golden candle.
  • Ivan and the Red Dragon Group ambushed fleeing kobolds at the valley exit, using crossbows and spells to kill them.
  • Gauss surpassed 30,000 kills, gaining attribute increases, True Illusion, Summon Lightning, and Greater Spell Mastery.
  • Gauss returned to the valley and saw the chieftain launch a fiery spell fueled by the candle’s divine essence.
  • Gauss recognized the candle’s value and Blinked away from Hefis to retrieve it.

Ch. 401Just a Little Short

Gauss evaded the kobold leader’s candle-powered attacks and defeated it by countering its magic, then took the golden candle. After absorbing it, he gained more Divinity Factor and drew out a mysterious power.

  • Gauss used Any Door to evade the firebirds while closing in on the kobold leader, whose candle-fueled attacks grew increasingly frantic.
  • The kobold leader burned through its life force as it poured more magic into the golden candle, while its attacks repeatedly failed to hit Gauss.
  • Gauss used Spell Counter to make the kobold leader’s remaining magic run wild, then seized the candle and teleported the weakened kobold into a Fireball.
  • Gauss received a kill notification and absorbed the golden candle into his right hand.
  • Gauss gained 1.52% Divinity Factor, bringing his total to 2.65%, and drew out a mysterious power.

Ch. 402[Precision]

After defeating the Kobolds, Gauss discovered that the golden candle had granted him a fragment of the world's rules called Precision. He tested the fragment and found that it let his spells automatically lock onto and track targets, leaving him wondering how much stronger the power could become.

  • Gauss received the Precision rule fragment and suspected the Kobold leader had used the golden candle at the cost of its life force.
  • Ivan reported that three Red Dragon Group members had been injured by falling rocks, and Gauss ordered them treated and promised compensation if they could no longer adventure.
  • Shadow showed Gauss the Kobold leader's treasure, including spellbooks for Memory Seal, Hypnosis Spell, and Echo Location, which Gauss translated and kept.
  • The Red Dragon Group collected valuable spoils, destroyed what they could not carry, and withdrew from the mining valley.
  • Gauss examined the Precision fragment and discovered that its pulse resonated with his spell models, making his magic easier to control and able to track targets automatically.
  • Gauss used Mage Hand to catch a fleeing sparrow beyond the spell's normal range, then wondered whether Precision could eventually make spells impossible to evade.

Ch. 403394. Chapter 394: Sudden Change

Gauss absorbed the [Precision] fragment and concluded that he was especially suited to collecting the dangerous powers of the world's rules. Meanwhile, Fischer seized control of the Fang of the Azure Wolf after Wolf was found dead, and he planned to target Gauss next.

  • Gauss tested the power of the world's rules, finding that the [Precision] fragment helped him target enemies and act with less effort and few side effects.
  • Fischer told Wolf that the Red Dragon Group had been spotted and urged him to attack Gauss, but Wolf refused and warned Fischer not to raise the matter again.
  • After Wolf dismissed him, Fischer privately gathered allies and decided to act that night, calling Wolf unfit to lead.
  • A disturbance erupted in the camp, and Fischer announced that Wolf had been murdered and blamed Luna, claiming she had fled with traitors.
  • Fischer accepted the party's nomination as acting leader and planned to deal with the escapees before pursuing Gauss.
  • Gauss woke at home and accepted a calming potion from Ivan after saying the previous battle had drained his magic power.

Ch. 404Request for Protection

Gauss recovered from the kobold campaign by mastering True Illusion and practicing several spells. Meanwhile, the wounded Luna fled Fischer’s pursuit and reached the Red Dragon Group’s camp, where she asked Gauss for protection.

  • Gauss checked on the injured Red Dragon Group members and told them to keep resting.
  • Gauss learned True Illusion and created convincing scenes of goblins, Hefis, and kobolds before continuing to study and practice spells.
  • Luna and her companions fled Fischer’s pursuit while a dark energy mark drained her stamina and helped their enemies track them.
  • Luna recognized the Red Dragon Group’s flag and decided to seek Gauss’s help rather than keep running.
  • Gauss recognized Luna as a member of the Fang of the Azure Wolf, and Luna asked him to protect her group.

Ch. 405Show Your Evil Side! (Happy New Year, Everyone!)

Gauss confronted Fischer after Luna warned him that Fischer had taken over Fang of the Azure Wolf and was hunting her group. When Fischer secretly attacked Gauss’s teammates, Gauss struck back, but Fischer’s riddled body began to laugh as a familiar, opposing power emerged from within it.

  • Luna told Gauss that Fischer had seized control of Fang of the Azure Wolf and was pursuing her and the other fugitives.
  • Fischer arrived with an elite squad and asked Gauss to hand over Luna’s group, claiming they had assassinated Captain Wolf.
  • Gauss declined to interfere in the dispute, but Fischer insisted on pursuing Luna and her companions.
  • Gauss sensed evil energy moving toward his teammates, interrupted Fischer with a holy attack, and readied the Red Dragon Group for battle.
  • Gauss’s water arrows pierced Fischer, whose body laughed as a powerful aura opposed to Gauss’s holy energy emerged.

Ch. 406Beast's Punishment

Gauss fought Fischer after Fischer revealed his corrupted form and used the Divine Art Beast's Punishment to immobilize him. Gauss broke the curse by drawing on his power, leaving Fischer shocked and the battle unresolved.

  • Gauss recognized that Fischer and some of his subordinates carried the same evil energy as the ratman priest who had marked him.
  • Fischer transformed and attacked alongside partially transformed accomplices while Luna and Alya joined the Red Dragon Group's fight.
  • Gauss used Holy Water and his dragon power to counter Fischer, but Fischer claimed he had killed Wolf with a Divine Art and began casting it.
  • Fischer invoked Beast's Punishment, binding Gauss with curses formed from the resentment of monsters he had killed.
  • Alya tried to help Gauss, but Gauss broke the shackles as the curses vanished, leaving Fischer horrified.

Ch. 407Stable Channel

Gauss defeated Fischer, interrogated him about the Evil God’s energy, and killed him after learning what he needed. He returned to the battlefield, killed Fischer’s empowered subordinates, and gained more Divinity Factor as his grasp of [Precision] deepened.

  • Fischer’s Divine Art failed against Gauss, and Fischer offered to serve him in exchange for his life.
  • Gauss rejected Fischer’s offer, wore him down with spells, and used Confusion and Hypnosis Spell to put him to sleep and question him.
  • After obtaining the information he wanted, Gauss killed Fischer and destroyed the remaining Evil God energy, gaining 0.05% Divinity Factor.
  • Gauss returned to find the Red Dragon Group gaining the upper hand and killed Fischer’s fleeing subordinates, gaining another 0.02% Divinity Factor.
  • Gauss sensed his Divinity Factor reach 2.72% and felt his understanding of [Precision] deepen.

Ch. 408The Red Dragon Group Expands

After defeating Fischer and exposing his betrayal, Gauss accepted Luna and many former Fang of the Azure Wolf members into the Red Dragon Group. The enlarged group prepared to resume its commissions, while its new recruits reacted with surprise to the enormous red dragon among them.

  • Gauss told Luna that Fischer was dead and learned she had not decided what to do with the Fang of the Azure Wolf.
  • Luna chose to join the Red Dragon Group and asked that Wolf's personal assets go to his family.
  • Gauss consulted his teammates, welcomed Luna, and used the Recording Stone to explain Fischer's betrayal to the Fang of the Azure Wolf members.
  • Luna led more than thirty former members into the Red Dragon Group after they passed review, while Gauss escorted those who left or were rejected to safety.
  • Gauss directed the expanded group to continue its commissions, and the new members stared in surprise at the enormous red dragon beside them.

Ch. 409The Generals Rally Around Him

Gauss led the Red Dragon Group in a raid on a Goblin nest, using his power and leadership bonuses to overwhelm the Goblins and inspire the new members. The nest was cleared, and Luna returned to report that her squad had suffered avoidable injuries.

  • Gauss and Hefis unleashed fire and Dragon Flame, throwing the Goblins into panic while the Red Dragon Group’s new members fought with enhanced strength.
  • A Clay Goblin ambushed a Goblin Boss, and Luna used Wind Creation to burn fleeing Green-skin imps.
  • Gauss used [True Illusion] to terrify the level-seven Goblin leader to death, then continued searching for hidden monsters.
  • After the nest was cleared, Luna checked on her injured White Wolf Team members while Gauss kept hunting for survivors.
  • Luna ordered the injured to accept treatment and left to report to Gauss, while her subordinates praised his strength and grew more impressed with him.
