Background / History

Jiang Li transmigrated into the body of an eighteen-year-old debt-ridden student after opening an old yellow-covered book. The original owner had borrowed one million yuan to buy elixirs for his crush, leaving the family in financial hardship and forcing Jiang Li into an underground beast-fighting arena. The Yellow Book gave him the ability to consume Cultivatable Lifespan to accelerate cultivation. 1

He initially relied on the Hundred Battles Art and Wind Severing Saber, then rapidly developed beyond the original body's limits. After reaching Eighth Grade, he defeated Zhou Weihua and survived Principal Ma Changyou's intervention when Yun Fei revealed his exceptional test results and admission to Nanfang University. 14

Jiang Li became increasingly responsible toward his family after learning that his younger sister Jiang Qi was working as a martial-arts-hall sparring partner because of the original owner's debts. He later paid debts, supported his father and sister, and became an instructor at Heavenly River Martial Arts Hall. 17 37

At Donghai Training Camp, he rejected established Grandmaster paths after resonating with the Wills of ten Grandmasters. Instead, he chose to use their paths as foundations for a Martial Way of his own. 58

Jiang Li is confident, blunt, and highly independent. He refuses to be constrained by conventional cultivation paths, authority, or inherited status; this is most clearly shown when he rejects a Martial Venerable's apprenticeship because he intends to surpass Martial Venerables himself. 73
