If the chainsaw hadn't been missing, Gu Mian guaranteed he would have immediately raised it and sawed twice at the head of whoever had made that noise behind him.
He recognized the voice. It belonged to the Evil God.
This time, the classic line didn't come with a scene. Everything around him was still pitch-black. Gu Mian knew the Evil God was messing with him.
He turned around and saw Xu Xingcheng, whom he hadn't seen in ages.
The surroundings were still dark, but at some point, a gigantic chessboard had appeared beneath their feet. Gu Mian guessed this was the entirety of the Chessboard Game Dungeon. The Evil God had apparently brought it over and spread it out like a carpet, probably because he thought it looked impressive.
Without a word, Gu Mian quickly headed toward Xu Xingcheng.
He still hadn't settled the score for all those cycles in Paradise World.
Seeing that things were going badly, Xu Xingcheng hurriedly started moving too, circling the edge of the chessboard to keep his distance from Gu Mian. The two of them ran around the board in circles, like some unprecedented two-man comedy routine.
As he fled around the chessboard, Xu Xingcheng called out, "Don't rush. Just hold on a second. I gave you the entire Paradise World, and you're still chasing me like this. That's really heartbreaking..."
"Is that what you call giving it to me? You shoved me in there and forced me to act out your shitty script. If I hadn't been so perceptive, I'd still be stuck in that Hero Versus Dragon script of yours."
"You have to experience things firsthand to understand the truth. See? You only figured it out because you experienced it yourself. I knew you were perceptive even when you were a kid.
