Background / History

Tsunade had spent a long period away from Konoha by the time she observed the Uchiha rogue squad’s conflict at the Valley of the End with Shizune. She viewed Asuma’s death as a consequence of Konoha’s failure to prevent the Uchiha clan’s extermination, and expressed disillusionment with the village’s leadership. 59

She reunited with Jiraiya and Orochimaru during the conflict, but refused Jiraiya’s attempt to bring her back to Konoha, citing her contempt for its bureaucracy. 60 Konoha later considered recalling her to strengthen its forces after Jiraiya’s death. 96

Yinyue confronted Tsunade and Shizune near Mount Xufu.
