Background / History

Yi Rong's divine presence was known as the Silver-Haired God before his later direct encounters with Bo Shuo. In anger, he annihilated countless beings until the God of Truth intervened. He then vowed to find and punish an unknown target. 64

His main body can exist as dense black mist, while individual derivatives manifest as physical versions of himself. At least one derivative initially appeared as an F-rank examinee, but its body dissolved into mist and revealed innumerable other derivatives watching Bo Shuo. 156 158 These derivatives are driven by possessiveness and hunger toward Bo Shuo, violently competing for him rather than preserving themselves. 159

A major portion of Yi Rong's history is preserved in the Ren Ai Orphanage memory fragment. There, his juvenile form is a frail, pale child whose life follows an unnaturally rigid routine. The orphanage is built around him: when he leaves an area, its people and surroundings dissipate, suggesting that he is its only true “Player.” 251 He suffers constant disasters through his Bad Luck Talent, neglect at the orphanage, and eventual targeting by its child-trafficking and organ-harvesting operation. 309

The Real World Spore was an investment of Yi Rong's divine power. It developed independent consciousness, resisted its main body's intended fate, and was willing to die for Bo Shuo after leaving him a “heart” formed from Demigod-level power and Authority. 265 289 Yi Rong later confirms that Spore Yi Rong is effectively his avatar from another timeline and occupies more than half of his soul. 314

Appearance

Yi Rong's appearance varies sharply by form, from a sickly black-haired child to an imposing silver-haired god. Across these forms, he is consistently pale, slender, and strikingly beautiful. 249 250 262 289

Yi Rong is quiet, restrained, and often difficult to read. As a child, he speaks rarely, follows precise routines, and responds to hostility or danger with an unsettling calm. 250 252 307 He attaches exceptional importance to defining and recognizing “humans,” repeatedly insisting that a person remains a person and later affirming Bo Shuo's humanity. 250 280

His long isolation and existence as a spore produce severe self-destructive tendencies. Bo Shuo concludes that death is a spore's instinct and that Yi Rong's resignation toward suffering resembles an uncontrollable illness. 306 However, prolonged confinement in the memory fragment turns his initial hope into possessiveness; after waiting an unknown span of time, he tries to keep Bo Shuo with him forever. 312

As the Silver-Haired God, Yi Rong remains outwardly composed even while suppressing hatred, disgust, jealousy, or fear. His greatest vulnerability is his aversion to losing control, particularly where Bo Shuo is concerned. 264 291
