Dragon and Sakazuki

"Mr. Dragon, the Navy seems to be making a move. Their ships are all heading towards Ohara," Mosen reported urgently to Dragon after observing the Navy's movements through his telescope.

Upon hearing this, Dragon put away his small red notebook. In the next second, a storm surged across the calm sea, and the ship they were on sailed towards the Navy fleet, propelled by the strong winds.

"Mr. Dragon, are we going to confront the Navy?" Mosen asked.

"Yes, I want to have a talk with someone."

Just as Mosen was about to ask who Dragon wanted to talk to, he suddenly felt the surrounding temperature rise. A figure leaped from a nearby ship and landed in front of Dragon.

"Monkey D. Dragon, what are you doing here?" a cold voice sounded from the bow of the ship.

"It's you, Sakazuki. I didn't expect to run into you here."

"Answer my question."

Dragon frowned. Sakazuki's attitude made him uncomfortable, but he didn't want to clash with Sakazuki right now. So, he used the excuse of wanting to borrow books from Ohara.

"You want to go to Ohara? Then you can go back. No one is allowed to approach Ohara now," Sakazuki said expressionlessly.

"Is the Navy taking action at Ohara?"

"You're not Navy, this isn't something you need to know, even if you are Mr. Garp's son." After speaking, Sakazuki turned and left.

Seeing this, Dragon sighed and manipulated the airflow to carry Mosen high into the sky.

"Mr. Dragon, aren't we going anymore?"

"There's no need to go. Sakazuki is leading this Buster Call, so it's pointless for me to go looking for someone. Given Sakazuki's personality, no one in Ohara will survive," Dragon said with a helpless expression.

"Mr. Dragon, were you trying to save people earlier?"

"Yes, my Observation Haki just sensed the life aura of an acquaintance. I originally wanted to talk to him about whether he could find a chance to let the civilian evacuation ships go later. It seems impossible now."

"An acquaintance? Is he also a spy for our Revolutionary Army within the Navy, like me?"

"No, we're just on good terms, and he owes me a favor. Currently, you are the only spy for our Revolutionary Army within the Navy. There's another person who can only be considered a reserve; I haven't fully convinced him to join yet."

Mosen was stunned. He wondered if the reserve Dragon mentioned was the future Marine Admiral Kizaru.

Speaking of Kizaru, Mosen recalled a story he saw on a certain blue bird app before his transmigration. It was rumored to have been leaked from Oda's studio and might be part of Kizaru's backstory.

In this story, Kizaru was indeed deliberately helping the Straw Hat Pirates, but not because Kizaru was part of the Revolutionary Army, nor was he Luffy's uncle.

The protagonist of the story was a man who loved music. He lived in the North Blue with his son, working to supply the Navy while saving money to buy musical instruments and learn music.

One day, the man suddenly received an order from the Navy to transport a batch of supplies to the Grand Line.

It was extremely dangerous for ordinary people to go to the Grand Line. They could lose their lives if they encountered pirates along the way. The Navy knew this and offered a very high reward. The man was tempted. He had always wanted a piano, and with this money, he could buy one.

So, the man accepted the order and asked a friend to look after his son. After preparing the supplies, the man hired some bounty hunters and set sail. However, as soon as he entered the Grand Line, he encountered a group of pirates. The bounty hunters he hired were no match for the pirates and were easily dealt with. Just as the pirates were about to kill him, another group of pirates suddenly appeared and rescued him.

This group of pirates took the injured man onto their pirate ship and bandaged his wounds. While recovering, the man discovered that this group of pirates, like him, genuinely loved music. He found a sense of belonging here and decided to join the pirate crew to pursue his musical dreams. The captain of the pirate crew, upon learning that the man also loved music, agreed to his joining. It was then that the man learned this pirate crew was called the Rumba Pirates.

The man adventured with the Rumba Pirates, enjoying music and adventure. However, it wasn't long before the Rumba Pirates were wiped out on the Thriller Bark, and the man died there.

Meanwhile, the man's son grew up under the care of his friend. Because his father's business was supplying the Navy, the son had been exposed to the Navy from a young age and had a favorable impression of them. After his father disappeared, he decided to join the Navy to search for him.

Years later, he successfully joined the Navy and, by chance, obtained the Glint-Glint Fruit. With his formidable strength and smooth interpersonal skills, he rose through the ranks of the Navy and eventually became the Marine Admiral Kizaru. Of course, Kizaru never gave up searching for his father. He eventually found out that his father had joined the Rumba Pirates, and the Rumba Pirates had been destroyed many years ago.

After reviewing the Rumba Pirates' records, Kizaru instantly understood why his father chose to join them – because everyone in that crew, like his father, loved music. Kizaru felt that his father must have been very happy to have met like-minded companions in the final period of his life. However, Kizaru could never understand what music meant to his father, why his father would choose to become a pirate for music and leave him to go on adventures.

Kizaru originally thought that matters concerning his father would end there. But then, he inadvertently saw a wanted poster. The person on the poster seemed very familiar. Coincidentally, the owner of the wanted poster appeared on the Sabaody Archipelago. Kizaru volunteered to go and confirm.

On the way to execute his mission on Sabaody, Kizaru encountered the Supernovas. Among them, one named Apu specialized in using musical attacks. Kizaru, somewhat influenced by his father, had his attention diverted by Apu's music. Apu "luckily" became the only Supernova to successfully attack Kizaru. After dealing with this group of troublesome individuals, Kizaru finally met the living skeleton, whose companion called him Brook.

Kizaru confirmed that the person before him was his father's former comrade. Seeing Brook, Kizaru fell into reminiscence, recalling the man buried deep within his memories.

This was why his foot, poised to stomp on Zoro, had hesitated.

Later, due to Brook's presence, Kizaru went easy on the Straw Hat Pirates, even secretly helping Luffy several times during the Summit War.

When Mosen first read this story, he was astounded. This was far more plausible than the idea that Kizaru was part of the Revolutionary Army or Luffy's uncle.

After all, the One Piece world had its fair share of deadbeat dads, plenty of them.

Even the main crew had two such fathers: Usopp's dad and Luffy's dad.

ps: I came across this headcanon about Kizaru while gathering information for this book on Twitter.

I thought it made a lot of sense at the time and originally intended to write the book based on this setting. However, I later worried about Oda disproving it, as there are easily 800 out of 1000 "leaks" from Oda's studio on Twitter every year, so people claiming to be studio staff are unreliable.

But I still felt this setting fit the art style of One Piece exceptionally well, so I'm sharing it here for everyone to see.
