"Mr. Dragon, it looks like the Marines are about to take action. Their ships are all heading toward Ohara." Mosen hurriedly reported to Dragon after spotting the Marines' movements through his telescope.
Hearing this, Dragon put away his little red notebook. The next moment, fierce winds surged across the calm sea, driving their ship toward the Marine fleet.
"Mr. Dragon, are we going to find the Marines?" Mosen asked.
"Yeah. I want to talk to someone."
Just as Mosen was about to ask whom Dragon wanted to speak with, he suddenly felt the temperature around them rise. A figure leaped over from a nearby ship and landed in front of Dragon.
"Monkey D. Dragon, what are you doing here?" a cold voice rang out from the bow.
"Oh, it's you, Sakazuki. I didn't expect to run into you here."
"Answer my question."
Dragon frowned. Sakazuki's attitude made him uncomfortable, but he had no intention of starting a conflict with him right now. So he once again brought up his excuse about going to Ohara to borrow books.
"You're going to Ohara? Then you can turn back. No one is allowed to approach Ohara right now," Sakazuki said expressionlessly.
"Are the Marines carrying out an operation in Ohara?"
"You're not a Marine. This isn't something you're entitled to know. Even being Mr. Garp's son doesn't change that." With that, Sakazuki turned and left.
Seeing this, Dragon sighed and manipulated the air currents, carrying Mosen into the sky.
"Mr. Dragon, aren't we going over there?"
"There's no need. Sakazuki is leading this Buster Call. There's no point in going there now."
"With Sakazuki's personality, not a single person in Ohara will survive." Dragon wore a helpless expression as he spoke.
"Mr. Dragon, were you planning to save someone?"
"Yeah. My Observation Haki just sensed the Life aura of an acquaintance. I originally wanted to tell him to find a chance later to let the civilians escape aboard the evacuation ship, but it looks impossible now."
"An acquaintance? Is he also a Revolutionary Army spy in the Marines, like me?"
"No. He's simply on good terms with me, and he owes me a favor. At present, you're the only Revolutionary Army spy we have in the Marines. There's also someone who can only be considered a candidate. I haven't completely convinced him to join yet."
Mosen was stunned. Could the candidate Dragon was talking about be the future Marine Admiral Kizaru?
Speaking of Kizaru, Mosen remembered a story he had seen before transmigrating, on a certain blue-bird app. It was supposedly leaked from Oda's studio and might have been part of Kizaru's character design.
In this story, Kizaru was indeed deliberately helping the Straw Hat Pirates, but not because he was part of the Revolutionary Army, and certainly not because he was Luffy's uncle.
The protagonist of the story was a man who loved music. He lived with his son in the North Blue, working to supply the Marines while saving money to buy musical instruments and study music.
One day, the man suddenly received an order from the Marines to transport a shipment of supplies to the Grand Line.
For ordinary people, traveling to the Grand Line was extremely dangerous. If they encountered pirates along the way, they might even lose their lives.
The Marines knew this as well, so they offered an extremely high reward.
The man was tempted. He had always wanted a piano, and with this money, he would finally be able to buy one.
So he accepted the order and asked a friend to look after his son.
After preparing the supplies, the man hired several bounty hunters and set sail.
But just after entering the Grand Line, he encountered a group of pirates. The bounty hunters he had hired were no match for them and were easily defeated. Just as the pirates were about to kill him, another group of pirates suddenly appeared and rescued him.
Seeing that the man was injured, the pirates brought him aboard their ship and even bandaged and treated his wounds.
While recovering, the man discovered that these pirates loved music as sincerely as he did.
He found a sense of belonging among them and decided to join their pirate crew in pursuit of his musical dream.
When the captain learned that the man also loved music, he agreed to let him join.
Only then did the man learn that the pirate crew was called the Rumba Pirates.
The man went on adventures with the Rumba Pirates, enjoying both music and adventure.
However, the good times did not last. The Rumba Pirates were wiped out aboard Thriller Bark, and the man died there as well.
Meanwhile, the man's son gradually grew up under his friend's care. Because his father had made a living supplying the Marines, the boy had been exposed to the Marines from a young age and had a favorable impression of them.
After his father disappeared, he decided to join the Marines and search for his father's whereabouts.
Several years later, he successfully joined the Marines. By a stroke of fate, he obtained the Glint-Glint Fruit. Relying on his overwhelming strength and his tactful way of handling matters, he rose steadily through the ranks and eventually became the Marine Admiral Kizaru.
Of course, Kizaru never gave up searching for his father over the years. Eventually, he learned that his father had joined the Rumba Pirates, and that the Rumba Pirates had been destroyed many years ago.
After looking through the Rumba Pirates' records, Kizaru instantly understood why his father had chosen to join them: everyone in that pirate crew loved music just as his father did.
Kizaru felt that his father must have been very happy during the final stretch of his life, having met companions who shared his ideals.
But Kizaru could never understand what music meant to his father. Why had his father chosen to become a pirate for the sake of music, abandoning him to go on adventures?
At first, Kizaru thought the matter of his father could end there.
But he happened to see a wanted poster, and the person on it seemed extremely familiar.
As luck would have it, the wanted poster's subject appeared on the Sabaody Archipelago. Kizaru simply volunteered to go and confirm it.
On the way to Sabaody for the mission, Kizaru encountered the Supernovas. One of them was named Apu and specialized in musical attacks. Kizaru had been influenced by his father to some extent, so Apu's music distracted him, and Apu "luckily" became the only Supernova to land an attack on Kizaru.
After dealing with those troublesome fellows, Kizaru finally met that living skeleton. The skeleton's companions even called him Brook.
At that point, Kizaru confirmed that the person before him was his father's former companion. When he saw Brook, Kizaru fell into reminiscence and remembered the man buried deep within his memories.
That was why the foot he raised toward Zoro took so long to come down.
Later, because of Brook, Kizaru showed mercy to the Straw Hat Pirates. During the Paramount War, he even secretly helped Luffy several times.
When Mosen first saw this story, he was amazed. It made far more sense than the theories that Kizaru was part of the Revolutionary Army or Luffy's uncle.
After all, the One Piece world had plenty of lousy fathers. They were everywhere.
Even the main cast had two lousy fathers: Usopp's father and Luffy's father.
P.S. I saw this theory about Kizaru while searching for information about this book on Blue Bird.
I thought it made a lot of sense at the time. I had originally planned to write this book according to that theory, but later I worried that Oda might prove it wrong. After all, every year, there were at least eight hundred people on Blue Bird pretending to leak information from Oda's studio. Those so-called studio employees couldn't be trusted.
But I also felt that this theory fit the style of One Piece unusually well, so I've written it here for everyone to see.
