"Can you find out who did it?" Anse asked.
Too many people wanted him dead. But the gods all knew he had ascended to a greater deity, and with no fixed divine kingdom, they had been forced to abandon the idea.
"Hard to say. Most likely the mind flayers," Sacos speculated. "Aside from the Overmind, few people in Cluster Tianyu have seen you, and they're even less likely to know your identity.
"The Mind Flayer Empire can't be completely cut off from the outside world. It's perfectly capable of spreading this information.
"There's another possibility: a leak from the Federation. Quentin inevitably revealed the destination while gathering people, making it easy for the gods to glean some key information-"
Anse nodded silently.
The gods had no way to track him, but they could make reasonable deductions from the movements of the Federation and the six-winged spirit dragons.
"It's fine. Even if the gods know, they won't dare descend in their true forms." He scoffed.
The gods feared death. Here, their faith was cut off and their divine domains severed. Their divine power would only weaken day by day, until they became utterly ordinary divine creatures.
In the end, they would be devoured by native deities or blasted to death by a High-Energy Solar Cannon.
"But you'll still be hunted by Astral Hunters, native deities, and local powers. An ordinary deity wouldn't be much of a temptation, but you are
"the God of the Spirit Network," Sacos warned.
Who knew how many people wanted to kill Anse and seize control of the spirit network?
"I'm looking forward to it." Anse had been worrying that things weren't lively enough.
He had even started slaughtering mind flayers indiscriminately to level up.
"Whether it was the mind flayers or not, I'll kill them first."
