Hashirama formed the Ninja Sect and gathered the villages at Mount Myōboku to face Madara and Liao Wu. As the battle began, Kushina struggled to master Kurama, while Liao Wu pressed toward the tailed beasts and Tobirama sent Minato to aid Kinkaku and Ginkaku.

• Hashirama formed the Ninja Sect with the samurai, and the leaders chose him as its head before moving their forces toward Mount Myōboku.
• Liao Wu revealed that he had controlled people in the Sand Village and Hoshigakure, while Natsuhi Star realized he had trapped her family and village.
• The Toads’ Grand Chant briefly incapacitated visitors at Mount Myōboku, where Orochimaru and the Snake Princesses arrived to help fight Madara.
• Orochimaru and Tobirama gathered Kage corpses and reincarnated powerful fighters, while Kushina faced her inner demon and began training to master Kurama’s power.
• Madara and Liao Wu advanced on Mount Myōboku, and Tobirama led the defenders as the two armies clashed.
• Ryobu summoned four Reanimation Bodies and sent them against the Ninja Sect, while Kisame fought his former Mist Village comrades.
• Ryobu sought the tailed beasts as Black and White Zetsu split up to capture them, but Kinkaku and Ginkaku blocked his path with the Uchiha Stone Tablet.
• Madara unleashed Super Shinra Tensei, then fed Mu to the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path, and Tobirama sent Minato to help Kinkaku and Ginkaku.

Liao Wu turned against Madara during the battle, and the Ninja Alliance sealed Madara with the Reaper Death Seal. Hashirama used the Rinnegan to revive many of the fallen, while Liao Wu escaped with Candy and the surviving Rinnegan remained with the others.

• Liao Wu defeated Killer B and Yagura and sent them to Madara, who absorbed the Raikages and the Tailed Beasts before Hashirama confronted him.
• Black Zetsu revealed that Madara had engineered Rin’s death, and Obito awakened his Mangekyō Sharingan after Rin died in Kakashi’s arms.
• Kushina and the others fought Liao Wu at Mount Myōboku while Hashirama and the Ninja Alliance prepared the Reaper Death Seal against Madara.
• Obito used Kamui to bring the Third Hokage close enough to seize Madara’s soul, and the Alliance pulled several Tailed Beasts from him.
• Liao Wu stole Madara’s Rinnegan during a time stop and fled, while the Third Hokage’s Shinigami seal dragged Madara into its stomach.
• Liao Wu refused to give Obito the Rinnegan to revive Rin, then escaped with Candy after Hashirama’s Truth-Seeking Orb sealed his chakra, and Kakashi revealed that he had hidden one Rinnegan in Kamui Space.
• Hashirama transplanted the remaining Rinnegan and used the Outer Path: Reanimation Technique to revive many of the fallen, including the Raikages, Killer B, Might Duy, and numerous Ninja Cats.

After Hashirama’s death, Kushina became the Ninja Sect’s leader and received the Rinnegan as the villages negotiated alliances and faced threats from Liao Wu. The arc ended with Satoru attacking Hozuki Castle and Snake Aunt telling Jiraiya and Dan about the front lines.

• Hashirama died after warning the others about Black Zetsu, Liao Wu, and the reincarnations of Asura and Indra, and he asked Tobirama to spare Izuna.
• The shinobi chose Kushina as Second Sect Master, and she confronted Kirigakure over its role in destroying the Land of Whirlpools before sparing Liang Long and healing Mangetsu.
• Kushina and Minato captured Sasori, and Tobirama arranged for Kushina to receive the Rinnegan so she could oppose Liao Wu.
• The Tailed Beasts chose partners among the villages, while Tobirama made Kakuzu Takigakure’s Leader and worked to establish the Ninja Sect in the Leaf Village.
• Tobirama urged Izuna to live in the Leaf, then accepted Itachi as his disciple and helped him devise rumors about Liao Wu to unite the Ninja Sect.
• Tobirama considered killing Mikoto’s unborn child, whom he identified as Indra’s reincarnation, but relented after the sage toads warned him against it.
• Satoru told the gathered shinobi that the Third Hokage had sealed Madara after Liao Wu betrayed him, then attacked Tsunade and the others before the Takigakure Ancient Tree drove it away.
• Fish Ball took control of Hozuki Castle, and Snake Aunt and Anko reached Jiraiya and Dan in the underground prison and began telling them what had happened on the front lines.

The Ninja Sect tracked Liao Wu through the desert, where Kaguya escaped her seal and joined the battle for the Rinnegan. As the conflict spread toward Rōran, Sasori embraced puppet life, and Orochimaru’s forces confronted Kinkaku and Ginkaku near the Dragon Vein.

• Tobirama secured the daimyos’ support for the Ninja Sect, which established its headquarters in Leaf Village and began directing missions worldwide.
• Chiyo awakened Sasori by summoning his parents’ puppets, and Sasori revealed that Liao Wu was hiding at Hozuki Castle and might be concealed inside Shukaku.
• Kushina trained her Wood Style and discussed Mikoto’s unborn child with her, while the Anbu uncovered White Zetsu spores planted throughout Leaf Village.
• Kakashi and Obito tracked Sugar-Heart Top Scholar to Shukaku’s temple, where they discovered that Liao Wu was trapped beneath Hashirama’s seal and was trying to recover his strength.
• Liao Wu faced the Firefighting Team, but Kaguya emerged through a White Zetsu body, allied with Black Zetsu, and fought Kushina as Liao Wu escaped with Candy and Shukaku.
• Tobirama learned that Kaguya had returned and dispatched forces to the Nara Desert, while Sasori killed the Anbu pursuing him and persuaded Chiyo to join his plan for puppet life.
• Kaguya and Black Zetsu attacked Ryobu and Shukaku in the desert, but Shukaku aided Ryobu before fleeing as Kushina and the Kazekage arrived.
• Orochimaru’s forces drove Kinkaku and Ginkaku toward Rōran, while Mukade appeared at the Dragon Vein altar and declared his plan to control the world.
