Paralia left her volcanic home after her wings had grown strong enough to stir storms. Rather than conquering territory as a dragon, she adopted the appearance of an elegant blonde woman, entered mortal society, and took the name Anlin. 268

Her businesses used monopolistic practices and low-price dumping to drive competitors out, while her public image remained that of a charitable, refined philanthropist. 278
