Background

Celia was a lonely girl ostracized by her village as the “freak who lives in the haunted chapel.” Seeking companionship rather than power, she summoned the succubus Soteria and asked her to become her friend. Soteria adopted a black-haired human guise called “Lia,” and Celia taught her kindness, devotion, and human life. Their relationship became mutual protection: Celia accepted Soteria despite her hunger for souls, while Soteria used Abyssal power to defend Celia from hostile villagers. 376 377

Soteria repeatedly resisted the urge to harm Celia, ultimately drawing strength from Celia's trust. Celia's necklace—later identified as the depleted divine artifact fragment Seed of Possibility—helped bring hope to their bond. 376 382

After Celia's death or disappearance from the shared narrative of their past, the surviving fusion struggled to reconcile Celia's memories and Soteria's instincts. Secretly, she is the succubus they seek and uses the charmed guildmaster to falsify evidence and lead the party away from danger. After recounting her history, Celia is accepted into the party without shackles or a magical contract. The acceptance triggers a soul-level evolution, stabilizing her fusion and allowing her to leave Baras Town as a new adventuring companion. 381
