The Taking

"I'll gladly take this eye off your hands." Uchiha Chen held Obito's Rinnegan, tossing it up and down.

"Why? You already have a Rinnegan. Why take this eye too?" Obito asked mournfully.

"Some things are better off under my own control." Uchiha Chen shook his head and said with amusement.

Only after getting the Rinnegan did Uchiha Chen finally feel at ease. He also casually relaxed his restraint on Sakura.

"Don't even think about taking that!" Sakura cried, then rushed forward, trying to snatch the Rinnegan back from Uchiha Chen.

"Hm?" Chen furrowed his brow, dodged Sakura's attack, and struck her away with an outstretched hand.

"If it weren't for Sasuke, you'd be dead already." Chen looked at Sakura coldly. He didn't have the slightest bit of fondness for her.

When she was a child, she had been infatuated with him like the rest of those lovestruck girls. But during the year Chen pretended to be a fool, he had seen those people's true attitudes all too clearly.

That was exactly why Chen had never cared about them. From beginning to end, only Ino and his brother Sasuke had never given up on him.

You could say that those two were a major reason Konoha hadn't been completely destroyed by Chen.

Sakura had been struck to the ground by Uchiha Chen, and it took her a long time to recover. She struggled to her feet as Chakra poured from her Yin Seal, replenishing her body and healing her injuries.

Sakura panted softly and looked up at Uchiha Chen, speaking through gritted teeth. "I don't know why you want the Rinnegan, but it definitely can't be for anything good. Even if it costs me my life, I won't let you take it!"
