Background & History

Sole Uchiha Survivor

After the Uchiha Clan's extermination, Sasuke was believed to be its sole remaining survivor. The loss defined his early life and drove his fixation on killing his elder brother, Itachi. 10 79

He was assigned to Team Seven with Naruto Uzumaki and Sakura Haruno. During the Chunin Exams, Orochimaru marked Sasuke with a cursed seal; while Sasuke lay unconscious, Sakura guarded him from the Sound Village team sent after him. 15 40

Pursuit of Power

Sasuke's cursed seal first erupted during the Death Forest conflict, flooding him with power and threatening his control. Sakura later stopped him from further surrendering to it. 41 42

Itachi's return devastated Sasuke. Tsukuyomi forced him to relive the Uchiha massacre repeatedly, leaving him hospitalized and convinced that his pursuit of revenge had been meaningless. 79

Unable to accept Naruto surpassing him and determined to defeat Itachi, Sasuke left Konoha. Obito's Disciple and Akatsuki Member

A masked man claiming to be Madara Uchiha introduced Sasuke to the Mangekyo Sharingan and offered him the means to obtain the Uchiha Clan's ultimate power. Though Sasuke recognized the man was untrustworthy, he accepted the arrangement for the sake of revenge. 91 98

Under Obito's guidance, Sasuke mastered his three-tomoe Sharingan and repeatedly confronted Itachi with Chidori and Fire Release techniques. His attacks failed to overcome Itachi, whose genjutsu and superior experience repeatedly broke Sasuke's momentum. 133

During their decisive confrontation, Itachi used Tsukuyomi to reveal that the Uchiha massacre had deeper causes than Sasuke believed. Reconciliation with Konoha

Sasuke publicly accused Danzō and Konoha's leadership of forcing Itachi to massacre the Uchiha Clan. He also cruelly revealed Naruto's parentage during their confrontation, pushing Naruto into emotional collapse. 146

After Danzō's downfall, Sasuke learned that Itachi had acted to spare him after the Uchiha coup was planned and Konoha's leadership had made their deal. He acknowledged that the Uchiha had been vindicated, though he still considered the leadership's actions unforgivable. 163 179

Sasuke ultimately chose to return to Konoha, support its unification effort, and rebuild the Uchiha Clan. Naruto welcomed him back, while Sakura was moved to tears by his return. 180 196
