Background / History
Innate Martial Souls are Martial Souls manifested as body parts—such as hands, legs, skin, eyes, brain, or heart—or as the entire body. They were once regarded as mediocre mutated Martial Souls and commonly dismissed by other Soul Master forces. Zhongli introduced a systematic understanding of their potential: strengthening the body could improve Soul Ring absorption, while Innate Martial Souls could undergo a second awakening. 94 101
Inspired by this knowledge, Du Bafang, a level 76 attack-type Soul Sage whose Innate Martial Soul was his own body, called on fellow Innate Soul Masters to reject recruitment by forces that had formerly discriminated against them. More than a thousand Soul Masters agreed to establish a sect exclusively for Innate Martial Soul users, naming it the Innate Sect. 101
The founders considered all Innate Martial Soul users family, reflecting the solidarity they had developed through shared exclusion and mutual aid. Du Bafang became acting Sect Master due to his strength and prestige, while the sect chose Zhongli—whose teachings had given them hope—as its intended Sect Master. 101 112
Within roughly a month, three thousand Innate Soul Masters had assembled near Heaven Dou City. Zhongli ultimately accepted their pledge of loyalty and formally became the first Sect Master and Innate Douluo. His conditions were clear: disciples were forbidden from doing evil, acting recklessly, or harming fellow disciples; violations would be punished. 111 113
Organization
- Zhongli — First Sect Master and first Innate Douluo. He established the sect's rules, taught methods for cultivating Innate Martial Souls, and later reorganized the sect into the Three Thousand Qianyan Army. 113 114 394
- Du Bafang — Acting Sect Master and Zhongli's principal administrator. He gathered the original members, managed daily affairs, and later announced the sect's disbandment. 101 114 394
- Chiyu / Xiaofeilian — Sect Saintess and the strongest member of the younger generation. Her Innate Martial Soul is a mutated beast-type variant. 123
- Du Siji — Du Bafang's grandson and a leading younger-generation disciple. He led selected disciples to Heaven Dou Royal Academy for formal Soul Master education and tournament preparation. 123
- Yuan Batian — Sect deacon who enforced the sect's authority in Heaven Dou City. 147
Cultivation and Doctrine
Innate Martial Soul Cultivation
The sect's core discipline is body strengthening. Its members temper their bodies and spirits, consume large quantities of Soul Beast meat and other resources, and use their stronger physiques to support greater Soul Ring absorption and combat ability. 101 114 140 397
- Zhongli taught the principles and methods behind Innate Martial Soul cultivation and second awakening. 114
- The Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect and Heaven Dou Empire supplied resources during the sect's early intensive training period. 114
- Zhongli returned Power of Faith generated by the disciples to their bodies, helping members with unequal innate talent improve at more consistent rates. 123 266
- Unlike the brutal methods of the future Innate Sect, Zhongli's intervention removed the ordinarily life-threatening danger associated with second awakening. 125 145
Second Awakening
A second awakening unlocks the true potential of an Innate Martial Soul and can produce Bronze- or Silver-grade results. 101 114 123
- Du Bafang achieved a Silver-grade second awakening with the Singular Velvet Sky Chrysanthemum and Zhongli's covert use of Faith Power, reaching level 80. 114
- Du Siji became the first among the younger generation to complete a second awakening; he later attained Silver-grade awakening and quasi-Soul King strength. 125 136
- The sect produced thirty further second-awakened disciples within its first extended period of development. 123
Sect Teachings
Zhongli attempted to temper the members' extreme tendencies by directing them to study the Analects, emphasizing righteousness, dignity, benevolence, righteousness, Dao, and virtue. 136 139 140
- Zhongli cautioned that second-awakened Innate Soul Masters could become reckless and act without regard for consequences if improperly guided. 125
- Some disciples interpreted the teachings in a physical and coercive manner, treating strength as the basis of right and wrong. 140 147
- These interpretations contributed to abusive conduct by members such as Yuan Batian, who extorted Heaven Dou City residents and inflicted harsh punishments in the sect's name. 147 148 149
Equipment
- Qianyan Set — A set of equipment crafted by Zhongli for all three thousand disciples. It enhances self-defense, allows users to condense battle formations, and stacks the force of the group; sufficient numbers can contend with weaker Demon Gods or suppress divine opponents. 347 361
- Storage Soul Tools — Carried by at least some sect disciples during supply missions. 146
Relationships
- Zhongli — Founder in practice, first Sect Master, teacher, and object of the members' intense faith and loyalty. 101 113 123
- Du Bafang — Acting Sect Master who founded the organization and carried out Zhongli's directives. 101 114
- Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect — Early financial and material supporter; the Innate Sect later intervened to halt its war with Martial Soul Hall out of gratitude. 114 394 398
- Heaven Dou Empire — Provided support during the sect's early cultivation period and permitted its younger generation to use Heaven Dou Royal Academy's tournament position. 114 120
- Martial Soul Hall — Maintained good relations with the sect and also aided its development. The Innate Sect ultimately dissolved its own sect identity in response to Martial Soul Hall's reform campaign. 394 398
- Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan — Faced a threatened extermination campaign after a dispute involving Yu Xiaogang and the sect's honor. 173
- Elephant Armored Sect — Its leadership sought to use the Innate Sect's influence to reopen the Sect Ranking Tournament, while Zhongli warned Hu Yan Zhen against scheming. 255
Story Role / Major Arcs
Foundation and Recognition
The Innate Sect emerged from the collective resentment of Innate Martial Soul users who had been ignored or ridiculed for generations. Its abrupt formation, large initial membership, and association with Zhongli shocked the continent; other powers immediately treated it as a force comparable to the Upper Three Sects. 101 111 114
Expansion and Tournament Participation
Under Du Bafang's administration and Zhongli's guidance, the sect pursued extreme training and rapid growth. Its younger generation entered Heaven Dou Royal Academy, with Chiyu serving as Saintess and Du Siji leading six outstanding disciples. 114 123
The sect became widely feared for its physical strength, unity, and fierce protection of Zhongli's reputation. Its appearance at the Continental Advanced Soul Master Academy Elite Tournament created a chilling atmosphere, and its disciples' presence could silence opponents and spectators alike. 154 171 173
Qianyan Army Preparations
When black-energy monsters emerged as a threat even to senior sect members, Zhongli chose to equip the disciples with the Qianyan Set. This transformed the sect into a formation-based force capable of defending itself against god-level enemies. 347 361
Dissolution and Reorganization
During the conflict between Martial Soul Hall and the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect, the Innate Sect faced competing obligations because both sides had aided its early development. Zhongli resolved this by ordering the Innate Sect to disband: the members would become the Three Thousand Qianyan Army, directly subordinate to the Vago Rock Emperor. 394
Before its formal disappearance, the sect deployed its overwhelming force to mediate the battle. Du Bafang declared that the army would fight any side that continued the conflict, compelling both Martial Soul Hall and the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect to cease hostilities. 397 398
Trivia

- Zhongli held the title of Innate Douluo for less than two months before passing it to Du Bafang. 114
- Although officially disbanded, the sect's entire membership continued together under its new Qianyan Army designation. 394 399
