Background

Ling Luochen was born into the Ling Family of Heaven Dou City, an old and influential ice-martial-soul family with a history of intermarriage with the Heavenly Soul royal family. Her inherited Ice Element Martial Soul made her one of the family’s most outstanding younger members and a leading candidate to become its future head. 114 117

Her mother died in the year she was born, while her father soon remarried and treated her harshly. Ling Luochen grew up emotionally distant, with her grandfather—Old Master Ling, a Level 95 Super Douluo—as her sole dependable source of affection and protection. Recruitment and Ling Family Crisis

Shu Yan invited Ling Luochen to leave Shrek and join his group, demonstrating the Extreme Attributes possessed by himself, Snow Empress, and Ice Empress. Ling Luochen eventually agreed, motivated by the prospect of surpassing the limitations of her current path. 116

She returned to Heaven Dou City when her grandfather became critically ill and the Ling Family descended into conflict over his Soul Bones.
