Background / History

Tang Hao was largely raised by his elder brother, Tang Xiao, who was more than a decade older and served as both brother and father figure. While traveling with Tang Xiao, he met Ah Yin. Tang Xiao recognized Ah Yin as a hundred-thousand-year soul beast but concealed her identity and withdrew after realizing that she preferred Tang Hao. 408

According to Ah Yin's later account, she and a disguised Tang Hao initially escaped Spirit Hall pursuers without being recognized. Tang Hao's momentary malice allegedly allowed Spirit Hall to trace him instead, forcing the pair into a continent-wide flight. 223

After Ah Yin sacrificed herself, Tang Hao used Exploding Ring and the Great Sumeru Hammer against Spirit Hall Pope Qian Xunji. He intended to severely injure the Pope and establish his own reputation, but killed Qian Xunji instead. Qian Daoliu pursued him, while Tang Xiao sealed the Clear Sky Sect behind closed gates to protect it from further repercussions. 396

Tang Hao is intensely proud of his talent, lineage, and title as the Clear Sky Douluo. He considers himself superior to most opponents, including Dugu Bo, whom he dismisses as a petty poison user despite recognizing the danger of Dugu Bo's abilities. 335

His devotion to Tang San is genuine but possessive and utilitarian. Surveillance of Tang San

Tang Hao secretly watched Tang San practice hidden weapons and Tang Sect techniques in Holy Spirit Village. Even when Tang San openly spoke of his past life and unusual abilities, Tang Hao reacted as though he had long accepted such behavior. 318

Conflict over Xiao Wu

After Chen Ming, disguised as Dugu Bo, provoked him with knowledge of Ah Yin and Xiao Wu, Tang Hao revealed himself as the Clear Sky Douluo. He refused to yield Xiao Wu, but privately intended to use her sacrifice—and potentially those of Da Ming and Er Ming—to create an exceptionally powerful successor. 336 343

Tang Hao used Exploding Ring to pose as a Soul Douluo and fought Da Ming and Er Ming. He withstood their combined attacks, used strategy to stall them, and continued fighting despite old injuries being aggravated. 344

Tang San's Mentor and Accomplice

Tang Hao intervened when Yu Xiaogang's training regimen weakened Tang San's foundation, supplying a Clear Sky Sect medicinal-bath formula and high-quality soul-beast meat. 351

He later taught Tang San how to exploit Demon Spider Devour by consuming soul-beast organs. After seeing the resulting growth, Tang Hao assisted Tang San in slaughtering every thousand-year soul beast in a Soul Hunting Forest so Tang San could consume their organs and flesh. 408 409

Capture by Spirit Hall

The father-and-son hunt attracted Spirit Hall's attention. Tang Hao's prior injuries and Exploding Ring backlash left him weakened enough for Chaos and his pursuers to identify and capture him. 410 411 414
