Background / History
Tang Hao was largely raised by his elder brother, Tang Xiao, who was more than a decade older and served as both brother and father figure. While traveling with Tang Xiao, he met Ah Yin. Tang Xiao recognized Ah Yin as a hundred-thousand-year soul beast but concealed her identity and withdrew after realizing that she preferred Tang Hao. 408
According to Ah Yin's later account, she and a disguised Tang Hao initially escaped Spirit Hall pursuers without being recognized. Tang Hao's momentary malice allegedly allowed Spirit Hall to trace him instead, forcing the pair into a continent-wide flight. 223
After Ah Yin sacrificed herself, Tang Hao used Exploding Ring and the Great Sumeru Hammer against Spirit Hall Pope Qian Xunji. He intended to severely injure the Pope and establish his own reputation, but killed Qian Xunji instead. Qian Daoliu pursued him, while Tang Xiao sealed the Clear Sky Sect behind closed gates to protect it from further repercussions. 396
Tang Hao then spent years in concealment, posing as a blacksmith and secretly watching Tang San's upbringing in Holy Spirit Village. 318 395
Appearance
Tang Hao commonly conceals himself beneath a black robe, hat, or mask. After years of hiding, he is described as weathered, haggard, and far removed from his former vigor. 215 371 396
- Carries the massive Clear Sky Hammer as his Martial Soul. 336
- Has a weathered, aged face beneath his disguises. 371
- Following his capture, he was left emaciated, mutilated, and physically broken. 414 487
- Possesses callused, oversized hands from years of hammer use and blacksmithing. 371
Personality
Tang Hao is intensely proud of his talent, lineage, and title as the Clear Sky Douluo. He considers himself superior to most opponents, including Dugu Bo, whom he dismisses as a petty poison user despite recognizing the danger of Dugu Bo's abilities. 335
His devotion to Tang San is genuine but possessive and utilitarian. He protects his son, improves his training, and personally guides his cultivation, yet also treats Xiao Wu and other hundred-thousand-year soul beasts as resources to be converted into Tang San's Soul Rings and Soul Bones. 351 372 343
He is ruthless toward those he considers beneath him. He forcibly interrogates Taino, abandons the imprisoned Titan rather than spend effort rescuing him, and plans to coerce the Nine Heart Begonia family into healing him. 368 394 395
Tang Hao is prone to explosive anger and displaced resentment. After learning of the Clear Sky Sect's hardships, he repeatedly smashes his head against a wall to vent his fury. 396
Abilities & Skills
Clear Sky Hammer
Tang Hao possesses the Clear Sky Hammer, the signature Artifact Martial Soul of the Clear Sky Sect. He is a Titled Douluo with nine Soul Rings, including a hundred-thousand-year red ring. 336 396
- Uses overwhelming physical force to break through defenses and meet powerful soul-beast attacks directly. 344
- Can use the hammer without a Soul Skill while still producing strikes comparable to Soul Skills. 336
- His hammer techniques emphasize explosive power over finesse. 408
Clear Sky Nine Arts
Tang Hao has masterful command of the Clear Sky Sect's inherited combat techniques. 336
- Break Skill — concentrates explosive force into hammer strikes; used to meet Er Ming's gravity-enhanced punch. 344
- Collapse Skill — unleashes destructive impact force; used to block Titan Roar Wave. 344
- Can combine Clear Sky Nine Arts with ordinary hammer blows to make them substantially more destructive. 336
Soaring Sky Strike
Tang Hao's Fifth Soul Skill, Soaring Sky Strike, can be used in several forms beyond the standard close-range or thrown-hammer applications. 344
- Can envelop the real hammer in a large phantom hammer for greater destructive force. 344
- Can launch the phantom hammer as a ranged attack. 344
- Remains usable after Exploding Ring if its Soul Ring has not been exploded, though controlling the resulting Soul Power is difficult. 344
Exploding Ring and Great Sumeru Hammer
Tang Hao uses the Clear Sky Sect's Exploding Ring technique to temporarily force his combat power beyond normal limits. 343 344
- Used Exploding Ring to conceal his true strength and pose as a Soul Douluo. 343
- Increased power comes with violent, difficult-to-control Soul Power and severe bodily backlash. 344 411
- He used Exploding Ring and the Great Sumeru Hammer in the battle that killed Qian Xunji. 396
- His abuse of the Great Sumeru Hammer ultimately shattered his first five Soul Rings and cost him their Soul Skills. 436
Soul Bone Inheritance
Tang Hao is reported to possess a full set of Soul Bones, greatly reinforcing his physique and combat ability. 335 414
- Right Arm Bone — an inherited Clear Sky Sect Soul Bone used to enhance heavy physical attacks. 399
- Left Leg Bone — generates a protective layer around his body. 399
- Torso Bone — enlarges and strengthens his body for close-quarters combat. 399
- His Soul Bones allowed him to survive attacks that would likely have killed an ordinary Titled Douluo. 344
Divine Slaughter's Domain and Asura God's Divine Sense
Tang Hao can unleash the Divine Slaughter's Domain. When Dugu Bo's Time Freeze trapped him, the domain activated alongside the Asura God's Divine Sense within him. 399
- The Asura God's Divine Sense enabled him to resist Time Freeze and escape Dugu Bo. 399
- The Divine Will can influence Tang Hao's decisions, including compelling him to involve Tang San in the Continental Advanced Soul Master Academy Elite Tournament. 394
- The Asura God regards Tang Hao as an expendable chess piece whose value lies in driving Tang San's growth. 421
Equipment / Weapons / Items
- Clear Sky Hammer — Artifact Martial Soul and primary weapon. 336
- Inherited Clear Sky Sect Soul Bones — includes the right arm bone and left leg bone. 399
- Storage Soul Tool — carried Gold Soul Cards and bloodstained coin pouches for Tang San. 372
Relationships

- Yu Xiaogang — Tang San's teacher. Tang Hao provides him with training resources but later pressures and manipulates him to obtain Twin Martial Soul cultivation knowledge. 351 380
- Titan — Former servant and leader of the Strength Clan. Tang Hao searches for him but chooses not to rescue him after learning of his imprisonment. 394 395
Story Role / Major Arcs
Surveillance of Tang San
Tang Hao secretly watched Tang San practice hidden weapons and Tang Sect techniques in Holy Spirit Village. Even when Tang San openly spoke of his past life and unusual abilities, Tang Hao reacted as though he had long accepted such behavior. 318
Conflict over Xiao Wu
After Chen Ming, disguised as Dugu Bo, provoked him with knowledge of Ah Yin and Xiao Wu, Tang Hao revealed himself as the Clear Sky Douluo. He refused to yield Xiao Wu, but privately intended to use her sacrifice—and potentially those of Da Ming and Er Ming—to create an exceptionally powerful successor. 336 343
Tang Hao used Exploding Ring to pose as a Soul Douluo and fought Da Ming and Er Ming. He withstood their combined attacks, used strategy to stall them, and continued fighting despite old injuries being aggravated. 344
Tang San's Mentor and Accomplice
Tang Hao intervened when Yu Xiaogang's training regimen weakened Tang San's foundation, supplying a Clear Sky Sect medicinal-bath formula and high-quality soul-beast meat. 351
He later taught Tang San how to exploit Demon Spider Devour by consuming soul-beast organs. After seeing the resulting growth, Tang Hao assisted Tang San in slaughtering every thousand-year soul beast in a Soul Hunting Forest so Tang San could consume their organs and flesh. 408 409
Capture by Spirit Hall
The father-and-son hunt attracted Spirit Hall's attention. Tang Hao's prior injuries and Exploding Ring backlash left him weakened enough for Chaos and his pursuers to identify and capture him. 410 411 414
Spirit Hall broke his limbs, mutilated his hands, sealed his Martial Soul and Soul Power, and transported him in a prison cart. Tang Chen later forced Ju Douluo and Ghost Douluo to release him. 414 415
Later Imprisonment and Ah Yin's Return
Despite Tang Chen's intervention, Tang Hao was later again reduced to an ignored prisoner, physically broken and mentally devastated. 487 493
When Ah Yin reappeared as a powerful Blue Silver Grass Douluo, Tang Hao saw her as his remaining hope for recovery. Instead, she confronted him over his alleged deception and subjected him to prolonged retaliation while keeping him alive with Blue Silver Grass Life Force. 495 497
