Background & History

Li Mingyue grew up within the Demon Suppression Division and became one of its Battalion Commanders. At the outset, she leads a rooftop pursuit of a remnant soul that escaped the Division's Demon Suppression Tower, driving her subordinates onward with the threat that failure will cost them their heads 1.

She first encounters Fang Mo while investigating the suspicious death of his father. Rejecting the official conclusion of death by overwork, she cites her coroner's findings: a drained corpse with two blood holes in its neck. Although Fang Mo evades her questioning, she allows Wang Youan to take him back to the Heavenly Prison and ensures that he will also work for the Demon Suppression Division 5 6.

Li Mingyue later recruits Fang Mo into the Blood Spirit Pills investigation after Gu Yichuan's death.
