Boom!

The roar of the Batcycle came from outside. Batwoman had left without another word.

Harley Quinn rubbed her head. "Darling, that was cruel. Weren't you worried I'd fall and crack my skull?"

"You were stupid already."

Li Ang said, "Be careful from now on. No more doing bad things."

"But how are we supposed to make money if we don't do bad things?"

Harley Quinn said with righteous conviction, "Penguin and Riddler are both at it. If we don't join in, we won't make any money."

"Don't worry, darling. I won't get caught."

"I don't believe you."

Li Ang glanced at her.

Who had just been dangling in the air?

She couldn't even beat Batwoman.

Pathetic!

"She got the jump on me!"

Harley Quinn's face instantly turned red.

"Next time I see that bitch, I'll catch her and strip her naked for you!"

"Uh..."

For some reason, Li Ang was a little intrigued.

Batwoman looked amazing in her Bat-suit, with curves in all the right places. He could only imagine how good her figure was.

She was incredibly tall, too—over six feet in her heeled boots. Those legs were definitely worth writing home about.

Harley Quinn could tell at a glance that he was interested, so she said eagerly, "Shall we go home? I want you!"

"Next time, we'll catch her and have some fun together..."

The two of them headed straight outside.

"Hey! Get me down!"

Poison Ivy, who hadn't said a word this whole time, immediately shouted, "Did you forget something?"

"Huh? Ivy, why are you still up there?"

Harley Quinn immediately turned around.

Poison Ivy was speechless. I shouldn't be up there. I should be under the car.

Kane Manor was no smaller than Wayne Manor, and was even more lavish.

Back when Martha Kane married Thomas Wayne, the two wealthy families joined their fortunes. To claim a share of the city's wealth, they became partners in business.

Kane Materials and Wayne Heavy Industry had both been giants in Gotham. Together, they grew even more powerful, eventually giving rise to Wayne Enterprises.

So Wayne Enterprises didn't belong entirely to Bruce Wayne; the Kane Family owned a share, too.

But as the head of Wayne Enterprises, Bruce Wayne's leadership was beyond question.

The Kane Family was also extremely wealthy, though.

Kate Kane was part of the family's younger generation.

In fact, because of their family ties, Bruce Wayne had to call her his cousin.

Though she was actually younger than Bruce.

Inspired by Batman, Kate Kane had once used stolen military body armor and weapons to fight crime.

She then underwent two years of training around the world.

When she returned to Gotham, she met the first Batwoman and took up the mantle herself.

Back then, she didn't know that the first Batwoman was her aunt, and naturally had no idea that Batman was Bruce Wayne.

Now, she had changed out of her Bat-suit and taken a hot shower. Wrapped in nothing but a towel, she sat on the sofa, working at her computer.

She started searching for everything she could find about Li Ang.

Of course, it wasn't because she was interested in him. As far as she was concerned, he was only so-so in the looks department.

She liked women...

Before long, she had found information about Li Ang.

"Hm?"

When she saw that Li Ang had a goddaughter, her expression turned a little strange.

Harley Quinn was surprisingly tolerant. She even accepted having a stepdaughter. Didn't she know that was a thankless task?

Then Kate saw that Kara had gotten into Louis Memorial Middle School with help from Wayne Enterprises.

"What's so special about her?"

Kate Kane opened Kara's photo. She was certainly pretty, like a Barbie doll.

But she was too young. Even though Kate liked women, she had no interest in her.

Harley Quinn eventually couldn't take any more and fell into a deep sleep.

Li Ang, on the other hand, was full of energy.

When you were healthy, you could keep your partner happy, too!

He hurried out to cook some noodles, then went to wake his two goddaughters.

The two girls hadn't come out all night.

Kara and Ciri had spent the night talking.

They shared stories of their pasts, deepening the bond they had formed.

Their experiences were completely different from each other's, and both found the other's fascinating.

Ciri couldn't imagine Krypton's advanced technology, and Kara couldn't imagine what Ciri's life as a princess had been like.

How could a princess have lived worse than Kara did now?

Ciri wanted to live Kara's life, but Kara had no desire to return to Ciri's old one.

If the two of them had to trade places, Kara would have refused outright.

Fortunately, they were both on Earth now.

Kara came out without showing any signs of fatigue, but Ciri had dark circles under her eyes.

Kryptonians could go without food or sleep, but Ciri was still an ordinary human.

Her Elder Blood hadn't fully awakened yet.

"Go wash up. Once you've eaten, Kara has to head to school."

Li Ang urged his two goddaughters.

Kara showed no particular reaction, but Ciri immediately wilted like a drooping eggplant.

"Godfather, I want to go with Kara."

Ciri said at once.

"Remember what we talked about? You need to learn the language."

"I already know how to say my name, and a few simple things."

Then Ciri demonstrated her clumsy pronunciation.

Li Ang smiled and encouraged her. "Not bad. Keep it up."

"Waaah..."

Ciri's eyes immediately turned red.

Li Ang had never dealt with this before.

Kara was relatively mature and didn't usually cry over every little thing. She had her pride, too.

So Li Ang hadn't expected Ciri to be such an easy crier.

Though she didn't burst into tears, he couldn't help feeling sorry for her.

He quickly comforted Ciri. "All right. Once you've learned the language, I'll let you go with Kara."

Only then did Ciri stop sobbing. She looked at him and said, "In Cintra, people get punished for lying."

Li Ang chuckled and patted her head. "Your godfather never lies."

He glanced at Kara and saw that she looked a little helpless.

The night before, Ciri had hugged her in her sleep.

She had turned her big sister into a human body pillow.

After they finished the noodles, Li Ang said, "Come on. I'll take Ciri to get her papers. Kara, can you go to school on your own?"

"No problem."

"Yay!"

Ciri cheered when she heard she'd be going out with Kara.

So Li Ang took his two goddaughters outside.

The two girls walked ahead hand in hand, with Kara telling Ciri all about Gotham.

Ciri had only just arrived in the city. The day before, she had gone straight home, so she knew almost nothing about it.

Now that she was out on the streets, she realized just how different Gotham was from Cintra.

Put simply, Gotham was more advanced than Cintra in every way—at least ten thousand times more advanced.

The discovery left Ciri both excited and anxious. She didn't know whether she could fit into this city.

So Ciri looked a little like Granny Liu visiting the Grand View Garden, gazing all around her.
