Background / History

Li Ang begins as a worker at Gotham's Iceberg Lounge, becoming its manager despite his dissatisfaction. At the same time, he acts as Kara's guardian, supporting her when her super-hearing first overwhelms her and assuring her that she will not be abandoned. 5

He refuses Commissioner Gordon's attempt to recruit him as an informant against Penguin, prioritizing Kara's security and future. He discourages Kara from using her abilities casually, while encouraging her to participate in school activities and build a normal childhood. 9
