Background / History

Sasuke was seven when the Uchiha Clan settled in the Pirate World. While Yoru watched the confrontation with Hancock from a tree, Sasuke questioned why his eldest brother and clan head was not fighting, bluntly noting that he was “only seven.” 13

He later lived on Kuja Island with his mother while Yoru, Itachi, and the other Uchiha spent long periods away gaining strength. His father, Fugaku, was likewise often absent after returning to Konoha. Sasuke briefly resumed his studies in Konoha after the Uchiha took control of the village, but grew dissatisfied with being left behind. 126

Yoru gave Sasuke the Rumble-Rumble Fruit, while Kakashi taught him Lightning Release techniques in advance. The fruit made Lightning Release unusually natural for him, though its high-speed use severely taxed his still-developing body. 68 127

At age ten, Sasuke secretly left Kuja Island to follow the Pirate King’s route, challenge strong opponents, and become Pirate King himself. In Loguetown, he defeated Roronoa Zoro, took the cursed sword Sandai Kitetsu, and later intervened when Marine Captain Smoker captured Luffy. 126 127
