Background / History

Xue Xi was raised by her maternal grandfather, Jiang Taiyuan, while suffering recurring outbreaks of Extreme Yin Cold Qi. The condition left her unconscious, covered her body and bed in frost, and worsened to the point that Jiang Taiyuan feared for her life. Xu Yan identified its true cause as the legendary Extreme Yin Cold Body, rather than illness or poison. 57

Xu Yan refined twelve highest-grade Extreme Yin Pills and administered one to suppress her raging cold Qi. Xue Xi regained consciousness within minutes and stated that she had never felt better. 58 He then taught her the Extreme Yin Art, the technique necessary to control her physique rather than merely suppressing it with pills. 57 59
