Background

Early life and Dao Seeking Academy

Ye Bufan was raised by Xu Yan on Nirvana Mountain and believed he had been abandoned because he lacked cultivation talent. Xu Yan had in fact sealed his Supreme Bone and Born Supreme aptitude from childhood. 370 372

Seeking even the slightest chance to cultivate, Ye Bufan entered the Dao Seeking Academy's examination. His touch shattered the Dao Seeking Stone Tablet, and the academy admitted him despite being unable to identify his talent. 371

He could not sense Spiritual Energy during his month at the academy and was expelled as a failed student. Before leaving, he was severely injured when Lin Hai threw him from a cliff after accusing him of spying. 372 373

Supreme Nirvana

After returning to Nirvana Mountain, Ye Bufan underwent Supreme Nirvana. The powers of Nirvana and Creation rebuilt his body, restored his ability to sense Spiritual Energy, and released the strength suppressed for more than a decade. 376

Xu Yan revealed that the sealing had been deliberate: Ye Bufan's Born Supreme foundation was meant to undergo Nirvana so that he could become a Nirvana Supreme, free of a Born Supreme's innate limitations. Xu Yan then imparted the Nirvana Supreme Art, Kunpeng Treasure Art, and a crystal pagoda to him. 377

Xu Yan also disclosed Ye Bufan's origin: he was born to the Ye Clan's Spirit King Mansion, a royal branch of the Ye Kingdom. 377

Return to the Spirit King Mansion

After rapidly improving, Ye Bufan returned to Pan City to settle his score with Lin Hai. He crippled Lin Hai's cultivation, defeated Lin Hai's uncle Lin Jie, and later demonstrated that he could defeat opponents above his realm. 385 386 390

He travelled to the Imperial City to find his family and was initially treated as an impostor at the Spirit King Mansion. Manager Fan recognized him as the long-lost son of Ye Kunlun after confirming that his master was surnamed Xu. 392 393

Ye Bufan learned that his father, the legendary genius Ye Kunlun, and his mother had disappeared while searching for him. He was made master of Kunlun Courtyard and received the Mountain River Seal from Ye Qingxi. 394 396

Execution and Nirvana Rebirth

When several Spirit King Mansion disciples killed Qiu Shui and harmed the maids of Kunlun Courtyard, Ye Bufan retaliated by killing twelve clan disciples, including Ye Kai. 411 413 414

The clan assembly voted to execute him. Ye Tiandao killed him with a spear despite Ye Cangtian's attempts to delay the verdict, and Ye Qingxi arrived too late to save him. 414 415

Ye Bufan resurrected from his tomb outside the Imperial City. His death completed his Nirvana Supreme transformation, granting him stronger Supreme Power, full command of the Nirvana Supreme Art, and a colder, more detached disposition. 417 418

Black Mountain Hall conflict

Following his rebirth, Ye Bufan uncovered Black Mountain Hall's abductions of women with Yin constitutions. He killed its cultivators, rescued Wang Ying, investigated its ties within the Imperial City, and protected Ling Xiang and her brother. 418 422

Using the alias “Lin Bufan,” he formed an alliance with Lin Liuli to expose Black Mountain Hall. Together they repelled the Four Great Protectors, survived an assassination using a disposable Magic Artifact, and defeated Pei Huayuan. 428 429 434 435

Ye Bufan's Kunpeng Treasure Art overwhelmed Pei Huayuan's Yin Yang Body, but a peak Origin Realm elder of the Pei Family nearly killed him. Ye Cangtian intervened and publicly revealed Ye Bufan's identity as Ye Kunlun's son. 436 437

Nine Heavens Pavilion era

Two hundred thousand years later, Ye Bufan had joined the Nine Heavens Pavilion, survived a devastating world war, rebuilt the nearly destroyed sect, and become its sole Ancestor. He later became the Realm Master of the Heavenly Origin Realm. 448 449

When the Great Li Heavenly Dynasty attempted to force the Nine Heavens Pavilion into submission, Ye Bufan emerged from its ancestral land and annihilated the dynasty's Imperial Advisor, North Pole Divine General, and Overlord Heavenly Emperor. 450 451

He expanded the Pavilion's influence, oversaw its recruitment, accepted Shen Wu'ai as his disciple, and provided resources for her advancement. 452 458 459

Conflict with the God Clan

Ye Bufan entered the God Realm alone to retaliate for the God Clan's treatment of Shen Wu'ai. He killed the Eighth Ancestor using the Futuo Creation Pagoda, then fought the remaining seven God Clan Ancestors without falling into disadvantage. 483 485

The God Clan ultimately sought a truce and compensated him with a Supreme treasure. Ye Bufan integrated this treasure into Nine Heavens City, turning it into a protective evacuation treasure for the Nine Heavens Pavilion. 485 486

Ye Bufan is repeatedly described as a peerlessly elegant young man, most often dressed in white robes. After absorbing the Spirit Liquid Spring and after his Nirvana Rebirth, he carries an ethereal, transcendent aura. 410 411 417
