Background / History

The Nine Heavens Pavilion is an ancient cultivation sacred land that has produced many outstanding powerhouses. It is the overlord of the Nine Heavens Domain but does not require the domain’s other forces to submit or interfere in their conflicts. 453

During a world war against another great realm, the Pavilion led the Heavenly Origin Realm’s foremost powers in resistance. Ye Bufan ended the conflict by killing the enemy world lord, but the Pavilion was nearly annihilated; nearly all members of Ye Bufan’s generation and older perished. Ye Bufan rebuilt it, became its sole Ancestor, and withdrew into its ancestral land for tens of thousands of years. 449

Believing Ye Bufan dead or incapacitated, the Great Li Heavenly Dynasty later attempted to force the Pavilion into submission. The Pavilion Master and elders resisted despite facing two Supremes and ten Heavenly Venerates. Ye Bufan emerged during the assault, killed the attackers, restored the Pavilion’s damaged buildings and injured members, then annihilated the Great Li Heavenly Dynasty. 450 451

Following Ye Bufan’s return, the Pavilion’s standing rose sharply. It became regarded as the strongest force and a guardian presence in the Heavenly Origin Realm, drawing enormous interest whenever it opened recruitment. 452 486

Organization

Recruitment and Training

The Pavilion follows an elite policy, accepting only geniuses from across the Heavenly Origin Realm rather than admitting disciples based on family status or political identity. 391 452

Pavilion Entry Trial

The Pavilion’s major admission test uses the Illusionary Realm Life and Death Map. Candidates under one hundred years old enter its treasure world, where spiritual power cannot be used; those who persist for more than one month qualify as Pavilion disciples. 456 458

• Hundreds of millions entered one recruitment trial, but only twelve were ultimately admitted. 456 459
• Li Taibai endured for fifty days despite poor cultivation aptitude and became the Pavilion Master’s disciple. 457 458
• Xia Shiyu endured for sixty days and was jointly accepted by four Supreme Elders. 458
• Shen Wu’ai lasted ninety-nine days, after which Ye Bufan accepted her as his disciple. 458

Outer and Inner Pavilions

After the recruitment convention, the Pavilion reformed its structure by renaming disciples as apprentices and dividing them into Outer and Inner Pavilions. Outer Pavilion apprentices must endure one month in the Illusionary Realm Life and Death Map to enter the Inner Pavilion, whose members receive superior resources and direct Elder guidance. 459

• Within six months of the reform, nearly 80,000 apprentices attempted the Inner Pavilion trial.
• Only slightly more than one hundred succeeded. 460

Territories and Defenses

• Nine Heavens City — A city governed by the Pavilion where fighting is forbidden. Challenging this rule is treated as a provocation against the Pavilion. 454 455
• Pavilion Protecting Great Array — A Supreme formation capable of temporarily resisting Supreme-level attacks. 496
• Illusionary Realm Life and Death Map — A Supreme treasure crafted by Ye Bufan. It serves as both the Pavilion’s trial ground and a combat treasure capable of suppressing powerful enemies. 456 459
• Nine Heavens Ruler — The Pavilion Master’s weapon, used in the defense against the Great Li Heavenly Dynasty. 450
• Nine Heavens City treasure form — Ye Bufan integrated a Supreme treasure into the city, allowing it to transfer the Pavilion’s elders and disciples away during a calamity. 486

Major Conflicts

Great Li Heavenly Dynasty Assault

The Great Li Heavenly Dynasty attempted to absorb the Pavilion and attacked when the Pavilion Master refused. The Pavilion’s defenses were overwhelmed until Ye Bufan intervened, restored the damage, and destroyed the Dynasty. 450 451

God Clan Incursions

The God Clan repeatedly targeted Shen Wu’ai and Ye Bufan. The Pavilion Master defended Nine Heavens City during recruitment, using the Illusionary Realm Life and Death Map to suppress three God Clan Sovereigns. 459

A later God Clan force arrived with three Supremes and two Overlords, seeking to kill Ye Bufan and Shen Wu’ai. The Pavilion Master confronted them rather than allow them to threaten Nine Heavens Island. 473

Assault by the Chaos God Devils

The Great Dao God Devil and the Sky-Opening God Devil attacked the Pavilion while Ye Bufan was absent. The protective array shattered, and the Pavilion Master used the Illusionary Realm Life and Death Map to delay the invaders while sending the elders and disciples away through Nine Heavens City. 496 497

The clash between the Chaos Divine Pillar and the Life and Death Map reduced the Pavilion to ruins. Xu Yan later restored the grounds to their original state. 497 500

• Ye Bufan — Sole Ancestor, rebuilder, and greatest protector of the Pavilion; he destroyed the Great Li Heavenly Dynasty and elevated the Pavilion’s prestige. 449 451 486
• Pavilion Master — Administrative leader and defender of the Pavilion; he oversees recruitment, safeguards Nine Heavens City, and prioritizes evacuating the disciples during crises. 456 459 496
• Shen Wu’ai — Ye Bufan’s disciple and the Pavilion’s Goddess; she defended the Pavilion against the Sky-Opening God Devil and regarded it as her home. 458 497
