After finishing all this, Patri Vic calmly leaned against the ship's railing.
As Rocks had said, there was no need to hide one's strength on this ship—only formidable power could make others wary.
Though at this moment Patri Vic could barely squeeze into a position as an officer, Rocks didn't intend to do that, and the reason was obvious.
It all came down to the danger Patri Vic faced on the ship right now.
Only by becoming an officer could he escape that danger, but to become an officer, he had to do more errands for Rocks.
Of course, that was the general rule—but if someone's strength exceeded the standard, Rocks wouldn't hesitate to promote them directly to officer.
"Vic, your strength has grown a lot." Whitebeard laughed in praise.
Patri Vic's rate of improvement was like a rocket; he now possessed power close to that of a normal officer.
"After all this time, it's not strange to have gotten a bit stronger." Patri Vic shrugged calmly in reply.
"I'd really like to spar with you, Vic. Your strength now should be worth me fighting seriously." Golden Lion grinned.
Months ago on Hachinosu Island, Golden Lion had fought Patri Vic, and back then he was still very weak.
But now Golden Lion could see that Patri Vic's strength was enough to match them, the officers.
The two completely different, powerful forces Patri Vic had just displayed carried terrifying destructive power.
The sheer speed of his growth made even him click his tongue in amazement.
He suspected Patri Vic might have been hiding his strength before.
"No, no, no, no, Mr. Shiki, I'm not as strong as you think." Patri Vic curled his lip and shook his head.
His strength now was still far behind Shiki's—after all, while he was improving, Shiki hadn't stayed still either.
"Jihaha... How about a match right now? You free, Vic?"
"Forget it, don't keep thinking about bullying me." Patri Vic teased.
Golden Lion chuckled and didn't continue the topic.
Meanwhile, Rocks stood at the bow and shouted.
"Brothers, time to work."
Ahead lay a member state of the World Government, and their target was the Meras Kingdom.
This country, like the Amendos Kingdom, was dripping with wealth.
Plundering World Government member states was their main purpose on the sea.
The Rocks Pirates' ship docked at the shore, and countless pirates surged toward the member state to attack.
But not long after they entered the World Government member state, several Navy warships sailed in from the sea.
"Rocks Pirates, this time we'll put you to rest forever." The leading Navy Admiral, Krieg, grinned savagely.
Their Navy had plenty of informants on the sea, since a large force had been tracking the Rocks Pirates' movements.
As soon as they got word, they rushed here.
The Navy warships approached the Meras Kingdom.
"Kill all the pirates!" the Navy Admiral roared from the bow.
Countless Navy soldiers began pouring into the Meras Kingdom.
Inside the Meras Kingdom, countless pirates in the midst of slaughter turned and saw the surging Navy forces.
"The Navy's here?" Patri Vic turned to see the dense ranks of Navy fighters.
"Looks like our location was exposed." Whitebeard replied beside him.
Suddenly Patri Vic sensed danger and quickly flew backward.
"Boom!"
A massive crater appeared where he'd just stood, smoke billowing as a sturdy figure slowly rose to his feet.
"Boom!"
A figure shot toward Whitebeard, unleashing a powerful shockwave that carved a several-meter trench across the ground as his body slid back.
"We meet again, Patri Vic." Sengoku stood beside Garp, his expression grave.
"Garp, Sengoku?" Patri Vic was surprised to see them.
"I can't believe you became a pirate???" Garp demanded with a dark look.
When they were searching for the Rocks Pirates, they'd naturally seen Patri Vic's wanted poster.
His starting bounty was a hundred million Berry, with considerable strength—he'd even fought Sengoku to a standstill before.
"It's not like the Navy left me any choice." Patri Vic shrugged helplessly in reply.
He'd never planned to join the Rocks Pirates.
But the Navy's encirclement of Hachinosu Island left him no way to escape.
His battle with Sengoku had already marked him as a threat in the Navy's eyes.
After all, in the Navy's view, no one on Hachinosu Island was legitimate; they'd rather arrest the wrong person than let anyone slip by.
The Rocks Pirates had arrived. If he didn't join them now, then without a doubt, the Navy would take him away, and that would be a huge hassle.
"Did we Navy men force you?" Garp questioned with some confusion.
"Otherwise? Under those circumstances, did I have any choice but to join the Rocks Pirates? Was I supposed to just let your Navy take me away?" Patri Vic retorted.
"We wouldn't have harmed you," Garp replied.
"Who knows about that?" Patri Vic sneered.
He had ties to Whitebeard; the World Government could definitely dig that up.
Knowing how the World Government operated, they'd probably use him as bait.
"Don't waste words with the Navy, Vic," Whitebeard said calmly beside him, gripping Murakumogiri.
"Leave Garp to me, and Sengoku to you," Patri Vic said to Whitebeard.
Whitebeard gave a slight nod, then swung Murakumogiri toward Sengoku.
"A man lost in darkness—I'll use my fists to wake you up," Garp said solemnly, clenching his fists as he faced Patri Vic.
"I've always been clear-headed. And I've always been myself—I never fell into any so-called darkness."
"Becoming a pirate is darkness." Garp's arm coated itself in Armament Haki as he shot toward Patri Vic like a bolt of lightning.
"Boom!"
Patri Vic's arm also covered in Armament Haki, he threw a punch. The two fists collided, sending out a powerful shockwave that swept in all directions.
Dust and sand billowed around them.
Their fists kept clashing, but in terms of raw strength and stamina, Garp clearly had the upper hand.
Purple steam enveloped Patri Vic's body, unleashing a pressure like mountains and seas collapsing, an invisible force pressing down on Garp.
"Your aura changed," Garp remarked, slightly surprised as he felt Patri Vic's power.
"Boom!"
Seizing the moment of Garp's brief distraction, Patri Vic found an opening and landed a heavy, Haki-coated punch to his abdomen.
Though Garp used Armament Haki to shield himself at the critical moment, he was still sent flying.
"Whoosh!"
Garp's body shot backward, carving a trench dozens of meters long into the ground.
