Background / History
Training under Vic
Dragon’s early sparring with Vic exposes a considerable gap in strength. Even after using the Wind-Wind Fruit to conceal his presence, Dragon cannot escape Vic’s Observation Haki. His Dragon Claw Hand is countered with one punch, and his Conqueror’s Haki remains below Garp’s level 206.
Dragon subsequently awakens his Devil Fruit and destroys Vic’s wooden golem, but stronger transformations do not secure victory. When he realizes Vic has been holding back, he angrily demands a full-strength fight. Vic explains that an all-out attack would defeat him too quickly and instead challenges him to endure his Conqueror’s Haki 210 214.
Garp asks Vic to educate his son, hoping Dragon will become a strong Marine. Vic agrees to help but doubts Dragon will willingly obey others. During a later spar with Vic’s clone, Dragon recognizes that the purpose of the fight is to improve him and adopts a more serious, humble attitude 212 216 218.
Chakra Training and Naval Missions
Dragon waits in Vic’s office ahead of their assignment to deal with Golden Lion. Vic later demonstrates Fire, Earth, Water, Wind, and Wood techniques, including Wood Release: Rashomon. Dragon eagerly anticipates learning them, believing they could help him force Vic to reveal his true strength. His first documented Chakra progress is silent release, with lightning identified as his natural affinity 224 226 228.
At Sabaody Archipelago, Dragon defeats a thug demanding protection money. Later, he leads three warships escorting Charlotte Linlin toward Navy Headquarters. During the voyage, he discusses homesickness with a soldier and praises the man’s commitment to the Navy 228 309.
At the G6 Base, Dragon fights Hail, also rendered as Haier. He avoids taking unnecessary risks because the mission must be completed, but being mocked provokes his pride. He uses Wind God Mode and seeks victory both to grow stronger and to prepare for further sparring with Vic, from whom he hopes to learn about the Clan of D 312 313.
Personality
Dragon loves combat: his excitement rises even while Vic repeatedly overpowers him. He is proud and competitive, reacting angrily when Vic admits how little strength he has used and when Haier dismisses his abilities 206 214 313.
His rebelliousness dates back to childhood, according to Garp. Nevertheless, Dragon can acknowledge a teacher’s intentions, become more humble, and show genuine enthusiasm for unfamiliar techniques 212 216 226.
Dragon also takes responsibility for his missions and shows consideration toward subordinates. He restrains himself against a dangerous opponent to avoid jeopardizing an assignment, while his conversation with a homesick soldier reveals his own attachment to Garp 309 312.
Abilities & Skills
Wind-Wind Fruit
Dragon manipulates wind for concealment, mobility, and enhanced combat forms 206 210 312.
- Concealment: Blends into the air and hides his presence; Vic’s Observation Haki can still locate him 206.
- Flight: Floats freely and moves through the air at high speed 312.
- Awakened form: Uses a wind-enhanced transformation powerful enough to shatter Vic’s wooden golem 210.
- Wind God Mode: Takes on an enormous, imposing physique resembling an ancient giant or deity 214 313.
- Weather limitation: The fruit can potentially alter weather by changing air speed, but Dragon has not attained that capability by the G6 Base battle 312.
Haki
Dragon possesses Conqueror’s Haki and demonstrates further Haki development in later combat 206 313.
- Releases a fierce Conqueror’s Haki after being knocked down by Vic 206.
- Has not fully mastered Conqueror’s Haki infusion during their initial documented spar 206.
- Uses Haki to defeat the protection-fee thug at Sabaody Archipelago 228.
- Displays improved Haki against Haier 313.

- Vic counters it with a single punch; the encounter does not establish the technique’s effectiveness against a comparable opponent 206.
Chakra Control
Dragon learns Chakra manipulation under Vic, who identifies his affinity as lightning 228.
- Can release Chakra silently and enhance his physical and mental condition 228.

- His lightning affinity is established, but no named lightning technique is documented in the supplied encounters 228.
Relationships
- Garp — Father and the only family Dragon identifies during the escort voyage. Garp regards him as talented but unruly and asks Vic to guide him toward a naval career. Dragon admires Garp’s strength and history despite his rebellious nature 212 214 309.
- Patri Vic — Mentor and sparring opponent. Vic holds back to test Dragon, recognizes his potential, and teaches him Chakra control. Dragon hopes to become strong enough to draw out Vic’s full power and obtain information about the Clan of D 206 216 226 228 313.
- Hail / Haier — Opponent at the G6 Base. Dragon’s speed initially pressures him, but Haier’s combat experience allows him to adapt to Dragon’s attacks 312 313.
