Background

Tang San served as both Sea God and Asura God, as well as a member of the God Realm Committee. He was regarded as the God Realm’s leader, having been designated by the first-generation Gods of Goodness and Evil. However, his authority was repeatedly challenged by the God of Destruction, who considered him irresponsible, hypocritical, and prone to disregarding the laws he was meant to enforce 269.

He directly interfered with the Douluo Plane without Committee deliberation and was punished with three years of confinement at the edge of the forbidden lands. Tang San remained openly defiant during his escort, changing into his Asura God form and insisting that he would walk on his own 269.

Tang San regarded Douluo Star as exceptionally important and opposed the God of Destruction’s proposal to advance the plane by feeding it captured worlds. He suspected that the proposal was intended to benefit An Zhen, the God of Destruction’s disciple, and attempted to delay the decision while arranging for Xiao Wu to investigate the mortal realm 302.

Appearance

Tang San is a tall man whose Sea God form has waist-length black hair. When shifting into his Asura God form, his hair turns white and his body emits overwhelming crimson killing intent 269.

Tang San is intensely possessive of the people he considers his own, particularly Xiao Wu and Tang Wutong. His concern for Douluo Star is repeatedly framed in possessive terms, and he initially considers “disciplining” An Zhen and potentially bringing him into the Tang family without regard for An Zhen’s wishes 302.

Under pressure, his restraint collapses into rage, paranoia, and desperation. Xiao Wu’s capture drives him to threaten the destruction of the God Realm by igniting his divine flame, isolating him from the other deities 449 450. Later losses make him increasingly willing to coerce allies, release the Golden Dragon King, and consume the Light God’s life force to regain power 498 529 543.

He remains calculating even while severely weakened. He seeks arrangements with the Golden Dragon King, the Light God, and the Darkness God to reverse his situation, but his distrust and coercion repeatedly turn potential allies against him 472 498 529.

After Xiao Wu is captured, Tang San loses control and nearly ignites his divine flame. The other deities fear that his madness could destroy the God Realm, leaving him politically isolated and vulnerable to the God of Destruction’s leverage 449 450 472.

Unable to act freely because his family is held hostage, Tang San seeks help from the Light and Darkness Gods, plans to descend to the mortal realm, and eventually offers divine blood to free the Golden Dragon King. The Golden Dragon King immediately betrays and maims him 472 498 529 540.

Final Battle and Death

Tang San reaches Douluo Star after consuming the Light God’s life force and confronts An Zhen. His attempt to rescue Xiao Wu is used as bait: Gu Yue Na suppresses his divine soul with the Dragon God’s mental-control authority, then kills him through an ambush with the Heavenly Saint Split Abyss Halberd 543 545.

Following Tang San’s death, An Zhen absorbs his remaining life force, divine power, and Asura God position 546.
