Background / History

The Demon Suppression Department was established under Great Qi's founding Emperor Taizu and has fought demons and evil spirits for nearly a thousand years. Its techniques are particularly fierce and possess advantages against demonic and evil entities of equivalent level, but its members face an extremely high casualty rate. 21 75

The Yunlu County branch was annihilated after all of its personnel entered Yunlu Mountain to suppress a sixth-tier demon that had massacred Luoshi Village. The department later recruited a new group of Azure-robed Demon Suppression Guards, including Luo Yi, to rebuild the county force. 51 75

By the time Luo Yi transferred to Yun Province, the provincial Government Office operated as a large, disciplined military organization rather than a small local office. 184 185

Internal failures have repeatedly endangered the department's mission. Zheng Bin concealed information concerning demons while stationed at Wolong Abyss and was arrested under General Tong's order. Later, Meng Canghai and three other Demon Suppression Generals were executed for colluding with demons and harming colleagues. 260 413

• Azure-robed Demon Suppression Guards — entry-level guards; Yunlu County recruits received identity tokens, robes, and sabers after passing selection. They have no internal rank divisions. 75 184

• Hunting demons and evil spirits earns Contribution Points, which can be exchanged for cultivation techniques, resources, treasures, elixirs, and other materials. 21 185
• Promotion among white-robed personnel is merit-based. For example, advancement from one cloud pattern to two requires defeating demons at least at the Six Viscera Realm, alongside repeated mission participation. 211

Facilities

Yunlu County Government Office

The Yunlu County office stands in the inner city, occupying a magnificent compound of roughly two to three mu. Its courtyard is spacious, meticulously clean, paved in bluestone, and contains several unusually designed buildings. 63

Yun Province Government Office

The Yun Province office covers more than 2,500 mu and is divided into three camps:

• Newcomer Camp — receives newly selected guards and young martial artists with recognized potential for early cultivation. 184
