Territory and Environment
- The Ten Thousand Demon Lair occupies nearly half of the world, with much of its territory consisting of immortal blessed lands richer in spiritual energy than hidden human sects. 586
- It borders human territory near the Southwest Nine Provinces, Yi Province, and Demon Suppression Pass, making those regions frequent sites of human–demon conflict. 479 487 709
- Its territory includes the Ten-Myriad Mountains, numerous demon cave dwellings, ancient ruins, spiritual fields, and sites left behind by Ancient Qi Practitioners. 488 637 825
- The lair contains exceptionally dense spiritual energy; even high-level cultivators can sense their cultivation bottlenecks loosening within it. 740
- A teleportation formation at the human–demon boundary allows access to the lair. According to the Qi Family’s records, the formation is controlled by the Dao Alliance despite leading into demon territory. 637
Organization and Hierarchy
The Ten Thousand Demon Lair is governed by raw strength rather than formal succession. A demon that loses strength can be forced to surrender its cave dwelling, while challengers may claim status through victory. Luck is also considered part of strength. 826 829
| Rank / Group | Role and Access |
|---|---|
| Top Ten Lairs | Held by the lair’s strongest Demon Ancestors; their occupants are treated as major pillars of the Ten Thousand Demon Lair. 792 838 |
| Top Thirty-Six Lairs | Demons ranked within the thirty-six lairs are considered true core members and gain access to substantially greater information and cultivation resources. 753 |
| Outer Area | Demons below the top thirty-six caves are regarded as outer-area members, regardless of their proximity to the rankings. 753 |
| Lesser demons and clans | Serve under Demon Ancestors, guard cave dwellings, gather resources, and are vulnerable to extermination when their patron loses power. 742 809 |
Known Lairs and Holders
| Lair | Known Holder / Association | Notes |

| Ninth Lair | Spider Demon Ancestor; later Luo Yi as the disguised Flame Wave Lion | The Spider Demon Ancestor guarded the Tianyan Sect Scripture Library before being killed; Luo Yi later entered it as the Ninth Lair’s Demon Ancestor. 821 834 |
| Tenth Lair | Giant Horned Dragon Python | A top-ten Demon Ancestor dispatched in the offensive against the Dao Alliance. 838 |
Notable Locations and Resources
- Tianyan Sect Scripture Library — An Ancient Qi Practitioner repository guarded by the Spider Demon Ancestor. It contains human cultivation manuals, including complete Refining Void methods, and is protected by strict restrictions. 793 800
- Trial Giant Tower — A trial structure attached to the Scripture Library. Passing all of its checkpoints grants access to the repository and may qualify a challenger to inherit the Tianyan Sect’s legacy. 793 835
- Yōumíng Dragon Ancestor’s Cave — A cave dwelling containing an Age Tree, Lifespan Fruits, and formerly the Nether Dragon Halberd, the dragon’s natal treasure. 651 759
- Spirit Plant Garden — A treasure-rich area where heavenly materials and pills are stored in immense quantities. 825
- Ancient Qi Practitioner cave dwellings — Sources of cultivation methods, formations, treasures, and remnants that human martial artists repeatedly risk their lives to obtain. 637 740
Military Strength
- The Ten Thousand Demon Lair possesses substantially more top experts than the Yilin Army; during the Yi Province border conflict, three tenth-order Demon Ancestors were present against the army’s single Golden Body God Realm expert. 487
- Luo Yi estimates that the lair has at most several hundred Demon Ancestors capable of reaching the Heavenly Human Realm, while fewer than seventy can rival the Refining Void Realm. 776
- Rumors state that beings surpassing the Void Refining Realm exist within the lair. 639
- The lair’s resources allow most established demons to cultivate without needing to conquer human lands, helping maintain a fragile balance with humanity and the Dao Alliance. 776
History
The Ten Thousand Demon Lair has a longstanding enmity with the human cultivation world. It nearly wiped out the Heavenly Origin Sect, whose legacy is connected to the modern Dao Alliance. 709
It repeatedly assaulted the southwestern border and harassed the Yilin Army’s encampment, inflicting serious casualties. Zhang Changqing consequently led a covert counterattack into the Ten-Myriad Mountains, where three Demon Ancestors prepared an ambush and discussed using captured Martial Dao Grandmasters as “blood food.” 487 488
Human cultivators continued entering the lair for ancient inheritances and heavenly treasures despite the danger. The cultivation methods that made forces such as the Dao Alliance, Great Qi Dynasty, and Heavenly Secrets Pavilion famous were reportedly recovered from Ancient Qi Practitioner ruins within the Ten Thousand Demon Lair. 637
The theft of the Nether Dragon Halberd destabilized relations among its Demon Ancestors. The Yōumíng Dragon Ancestor’s conflict with the Flame Wave Lion and the struggle over its natal weapon eventually drove the dragon from the lair. 759 827
Luo Yi later infiltrated the Ten Thousand Demon Lair by impersonating the Flame Wave Lion. While disguised, he accumulated influence, defeated rival Demon Ancestors, gained Lady White Bone’s attention, and eventually occupied the Ninth Lair after killing the Spider Demon Ancestor. 733 776 821 834
Following the Spider Demon Ancestor’s fall and escalating human incursions, White Crane Ancestor organized a high-profile expedition into human territory with the Ninth, Tenth, and Eighth Lair representatives. The force attacked the Heavenly Secrets Pavilion before being forced back toward the Ten Thousand Demon Lair. 838 840 842
