The Overbearing Zero Squad
The resounding crash of the falling object echoed throughout Seireitei, as the Tenchūren landed precisely on the outer perimeter of the Seireitei.
When the Tenchūren appeared above the Seireitei, Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto immediately summoned all members of the Gotei 13 to the location to welcome the Zero Squad with the highest honors.
The gates of the Tenchūren Carriage opened, Monk led the Zero Squad members out. Senjumaru, relying on the arms behind her, banged on the drums and gongs for a while, while Ōetsu Nimaiya struck what he considered to be cool hip-hop poses. At the back of the procession, Kirinj waved the Zero Squad's flag and shouted encouragement.
Are these ridiculous, goofy guys the Zero Squad?
If it weren't for seeing the videos of their battle and the Aizen seal behind them, perhaps some of the captains would have underestimated them.
After experiencing the intensity of their full-force spiritual pressure, no one dared to cause trouble. Following the captains' meeting protocol, everyone lined up in two rows, with Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto in the middle to meet them.
"May I ask the members of Zero Squad, what brings you down here this time?" Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto's tone was neither hurried nor arrogant.
Seeing that the members of the Gotei 13 were all lined up neatly, Kirinj and Yachiru Unohana did not leave their groups immediately, but waited for their leaders to speak first.
"By order of Soul King -ou, I am escorting Sosuke Aizen, the criminal who trespassed into the Soul King Palace." After the Monk finished speaking, the others stepped aside, revealing Aizen's seal.
"Understood. Kyōraku, Ukitake, bring out the culprit Sosuke Aizen."
Following Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto's orders, Kyōraku and Ukitake entered the Tenchūren together and moved the sealing rack to the open space next to it. The two of them accompanied Aizen, and they would escort him until he was taken to the Central Underground Prison.
"The limiter for Sosuke Aizen is already in production. If there's nothing else, the Shiba Clan's Kakkaku Cannon is ready."
Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto's implication was that he was starting to kick them out, but how could the Zero Squad let Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto have his way so easily?
"Hey, we've finally come all this way, let us catch up a bit," Kirinj said in a dismissive tone, appearing in front of Unohana Retsu in a flash. "You agree, right, Unohana Retsu?"
"Long time no see, Kirinjī Tenshirō," Unohana Retsu said casually, her gaze not even focusing on the arrogant Kirinj with his head tilted.
"Isn't this Hirako? You bastard, you failed to protect Hiyori- chan!" Yachiru Unohana slapped Hirako on the shoulder.
"Who are you?" Hirako actress, pretending not to recognize the voluptuous Yachiru Unohana, then exclaimed with sudden realization, "Hiyori? You're Yachiru Unohana?"
"What? Doesn't it look like it? It's just a little bit fuller." Yachiru Unohana conjured a universe on his fingertips.
"Okay, don't worry, Hiyori is fine, she's still my Vice-Captain," Hirako said.
"Huh? Looks like that bastard Aizen lied to me again!" Yachiru Unohana grimaced as he looked at Aizen's seal, wishing he could Aizen a couple more times.
"Excuse me, everyone in the Zero Squad, I have something to say. Why did you trespass into our Squad 12's barracks without permission!" Kurotsuchi Mayuri suddenly stepped forward, holding up a device that was emitting a dangerous red light.
"Oh, it's Kurotsuchi Mayuri."
Within the Zero Squad, a figure flashed and appeared in the center of the Zero Squad with a black chair. It was none other than Shutara Senjumaru, who had disappeared while Kirinj and the others were talking.
"I just wanted to finish the work faster." Senjumaru fidgeted with his arms on the chair. "I didn't expect the Squad 12's defenses to be so much weaker than when I was there."
Every sentence, though not explicitly Kurotsuchi Mayuri, was subtly belittling Kurotsuchi Mayuri. Considering the bigger picture, Kurotsuchi Mayuri could only dare to be angry but dare not speak out.
"Alright, you can use it now." After a few simple tweaks, Senjumaru patted the chair with relief.
Kurotsuchi Mayuri's face darkened even more. Senjumaru's casual tinkering was undoubtedly another proof of his incompetence.
"Thank you. Would you like to come with us to escort Aizen to the Central Underground Prison?" Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto remained outwardly businesslike, but his words implied he wanted to send them away.
"Tsuna, what are they talking about? They seem to know the Zero Squad pretty well." In the woods some distance away, Tsuna and Ichigo were hiding to watch the show. Ichigo couldn't help but ask when he saw everyone chatting and laughing.
Tsuna was invited by Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto to protect the other captains, while Ichigo were just there to watch the show. The group huddled together, gazing at Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto and the others from afar, only able to see their interactions but unable to hear what they were saying.
"Apart from the Monk and Ōetsu Nimaiya, everyone else rose through the Seireitei. How could we not know them?" Tsuna said.
"So, what are they talking about?"
"How would I know? I only know that Old Man Yamamoto definitely doesn't want to talk to them anymore," Tsuna said confidently.
The Monk understood Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto's meaning, but he had no intention of leaving immediately.
"Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto, can you tell me why Aizen was allowed to go to the Soul King Palace when the Seireitei was safe and sound?" The Monk pressed down on Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto with spiritual pressure. "It seems the Gotei 13 haven't fulfilled their duties as Gotei 13!"
"I did my best to stop Aizen, but he was too powerful, and I couldn't stop him." Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto said, opening his robe to reveal his bandaged wound.
The Monk squinted, surprised that even the rigid Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto would try to dodge his questions. "You're one thing, but what about the others? They don't look injured."
"Aizen is the King of Hueco Mundo. He brought many powerful Arrancar, but they were all defeated one by one by the Gotei 13." Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto was saying that the Gotei 13 had done their best.
"After that, Aizen stormed the Soul King Palace. Without special permission and equipment, no one other than the Soul King Palace is allowed to enter."
Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto added that, in any case, the Gotei 13. Since Aizen the Soul King Palace, then it's up to the Zero Squad, which is responsible for protecting the Soul King Palace, to handle it.
Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto's slippery demeanor only reinforced the Monk's belief that Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto had condoned Aizen's actions. However, lacking evidence, the Monk could only suffer in silence.
"Yes, Gotei 13 and my Zero Squad are responsible people." They are all virtuous ministers, not treacherous ones.
The Monk's reply made Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto realize that the Monk had discovered his minor problem, so it was time to proceed with the next step of the plan.
Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto took out a paper document from his pocket and respectfully handed it to the Monk, "The Gotei 13 bears an inescapable responsibility for Aizen's invasion of the Soul King Palace."
"Furthermore, I am advanced in years and currently seriously injured, and I fear I am no longer fit to serve as the Captain -Captain-Commander of the Gotei 13. Therefore, I am reporting to the Seireitei Soul King Palace regarding the replacement of the Captain-Commander."
According to past tradition, the change of the Captain-Commander should be confirmed by the Central 46 before being reported to the Soul King Palace. However, now that the Seireitei is controlled by the Gotei 13, Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto took this opportunity to report directly to the Monk.
The Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto hadn't anticipated Monk's Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto Monk and assumed that this man who had rejected the Soul King Palace would remain in the position of Captain-Commander until his death.
What exactly happened that made Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto voluntarily relinquish his power Captain-Commander?
Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto's words shocked everyone present, except for Kyōraku. The captains hadn't expected this moment to come so soon.
The members of Zero Squad shared the same thought as the Monk: that Old Man Yamamoto would actually step down as Captain-Commander.
After a moment's thought, the Monk knew that Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto was trying to shut him up. He took the documents from Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto as per procedure, glanced at them casually, and asked.
"Oh? Who will be the next Captain-Commander?"
"The current captain of the 8th Division, Shunsui Kyōraku, has been transferred to the First Division as the Captain-Commander." As Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto spoke, Kyōraku stepped forward so that everyone in the Zero Squad could see him.
"Shunsui Kyōraku?" The Monk looked him up and down. "Can you shoulder the responsibilities of the Gotei 13?"
"If necessary, I will live up to the name of Gotei 13 with my life!" Kyōraku's usual lazy demeanor was completely gone; his tone was loud and clear, and he didn't falter at all.
"Shunsui Kyōraku, is his Zanpakuto Katen Kyōkotsu?"
The Monk who knew the name immediately understood what Kyōraku was saying. Kyōraku's Bankai all about exchanging one for one, risking his life to uphold the Gotei 14, so he was qualified to be the Captain-Commander.
"The Zero Squad is aware of this. From this moment forward, Shunsui Kyōraku will be the Captain-Commander of the Gotei 13."
Hasty – that was the word that flashed through everyone's minds at the same time.
There was no ceremony; verbal agreement was sufficient. After all, the Monk held the reins of Monk in the Soul King Palace, including all previous orders from the Soul King.
The Monk could be hasty, but Shunsui Kyōraku was not. He bowed respectfully and said, "Thank you for your support."
"If you want to show your gratitude, then do us a favor!"
Unexpectedly, the Monk seized the opportunity to speak, catching Kyōraku completely off guard. The Monk's words were tantamount to an order from the Soul King Palace, forcing Kyōraku to take them seriously.
"What can I do for you?" Kyōraku deliberately narrowed down the question to himself, not wanting the Monk much.
However, it still happened, and not only did it happen, it was the last thing Kyōraku wanted to do.
"I demand that the Gotei 13 order the arrest of the Bleach Shinigami, Ichigo Kurosaki!" The Monk revealed his sinister and terrifying expression once again.
The nearby discussions instantly ceased; everyone except the members of Zero Squad remained silent after hearing the order.
Capture Ichigo Kurosaki? Are you kidding me? Ichigo's strength isn't the problem; the problem is that he has a group of companions who are no less capable than Captain-level, not to mention Sawada Tsunayoshi, who taught them to Beyond Bankai.
"May I ask why you want to capture Ichigo Kurosaki?" Kyōraku asked, forcing a smile. "So we have a reason..."
"No need. You just need to know that this is an order from the Soul King Palace. If you insist on a reason for the arrest warrant, then make one up yourself." The Monk's tone was very firm, leaving Kyōraku no room for objection.
"Is it baseless...?"
Kyōraku lifted his straw hat slightly to hide the bitterness in his mouth. Now, he only had two paths before him: obey the orders of the Soul King Palace, or stand with Sawada Tsunayoshi and the others...
